I'm Maurin B., the breeder behind SAAM Dogs located in Lady Lake, FL. We only produce a couple of litters per year as this is for the love of the breed not a mass production business. We came to love the Staffordshire Bull Terrier a few years ago. Since then, it has been by mission to show others how wonderful they are.

Why did you start breeding?
Always enjoyed having puppies and wanted to bring quality care to the practice of breeding.What makes your program special?
Each puppy is cared for and loved daily. I get in whelping area them and mama from day one, every day.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Maurin
Maurin has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Maurin partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Do you have experience with working breeds? Do you have a crate or a puppy playpen? Do you work? How long will Puppy be left alone on a daily basis? What activities do you plan to do with the dog (e.g., companion, breeding, obedience, agility, conformation show)?”
Price
“Prices include: AKC Registration, sample food, toys, and Health Certificate including age appropriate vaccines. Deposit will hold they puppy you pick.”

Parent health testing
Good level
SAAM Dogs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Staffordshire Bull Terriers.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
L-2-Hydroxyglutaric Aciduria (L2HGA), Staffordshire Bull Terrier Type, Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
