Meet the breeder

I'm Emily W., the breeder behind Sager’s Labrador Puppies located in Wardensville, WV. I love to see the results of our efforts in the sweet, happy, and healthy puppies. I breed our puppies specifically with families in mind. Creating dogs with beautiful structure and less size. I create individual friendship with each family and love to stay connected so we can watch our puppies grow.

Q. & A. with Emily

  • Why did you start breeding?

I decided to start breeding after growing up watching my mother breed labs. I decided to find and build a lineage all my own of fox red Labradors. My goal is to better the breed by health testing all of our adult dogs. In doing so we are currently in our third generation of breeding and are continually working to better our line.
  • What makes your program special?

Our puppies are born in our home with our family and they live inside as members of the family until they leave for their new homes. We breed our dogs with families in mind. We raise our puppies to be acclimated to every day with a family. They are surrounded by our children. We enrich them with a constant stimulation of noise, attention, and movement throughout our home.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Emily

Emily has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Emily partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.

“Our puppy pick out and pickup date are scheduled a few weeks after the puppies are born. Each family schedules a one hour block of time to come meet and pick out their puppy. The picks go in order of deposits placed. We feel each puppy ends up in the home best suited for them! Sometimes the family picks the puppy and sometimes the puppy picks the family. We prefer to meet all our families in person. We also prefer for all families to meet the puppies in person. We are willing to accommodate the best we can for each family and any circumstances. We do not allow our puppies to be transported by a stranger so we happily accommodate to meet families, drive the puppy to than, or help with flight accommodations. ”

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and $2,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.
Pay over time with Klarna.

“The price includes the non refundable deposit. Puppies have a 24 month congenital health guarantee. A complete vet examination is done at six weeks along with first set of vaccines. Puppies are microchipped and registered with AKC limited registration. Pet homes only. A 250.00 deposit will hold your specific puppy pick such as first, second, and third. We take three deposits for each gender prior to the puppies being born. The remaining available puppies will then be posted to have deposits placed, such as fourth and fifth pick. Buyers are then added to a chat group that allows me to communicate with everyone, share photos, and allows buyers to stay in touch as their puppy grows.”

Emily was so helpful and communicative. She was able to be flexible with us for our pick up time, after we had to reschedule due to a funeral, then helped us surprise our kids with an amazing puppy! Most importantly, our puppy is healthy, well cared for, and has been an awesome addition to our family.
