Meet the breeder

I'm Michelle G., the breeder behind Sammi Sweet Doodles located in Greenville, SC. Sammi, our F1 chocolate Merle Aussiedoodle is our inspiration to breed. She has brought immense joy to our family and to anyone who has ever come in her path. We are a very small family breeder and will only produce one or two litters a year with the focus on healthy, well-rounded puppies that can make other families and individuals just as happy as Sammi has made me!

Q. & A. with Michelle

  • Why did you start breeding?

I am a musician and dog lover. My husband is a runner and builds fences part time. We have both owned and raised dogs our whole lives. When we moved to SC and bought our house, we wanted an active dog mainly to run with my husband who has done many 5k races. I wanted a dog I could train in agility and swimming since that was my thing. Sammi is a certified therapy dog that performs agility and runs 5k usually finishing in the top 5. She is also off leash trained by me and my husband by 6 months she had full recall. She plays frisbee and swims like a fish. Most of all she loves people. I thought why not breed the "best dog ever". She is smart, beautiful, very loving, exceptionally well behaved. So we thought we'd breed her and see how it goes.
  • What makes your program special?

For one thing we are very small, and plan to produce 1 maybe 2 litters a year. I am committed to becoming the very best breeder using state of the art techniques to bring out the very best in our puppies and finding them loving homes. We will be breeding our Aussiedoodle with an exceptional multi-gen Bernedoodle stud early July and hope to have our first litter of Australian Mountain Doodles early September. Stay tuned!
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • DNA Disease Panel

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
