Sand Dollar Aussies

Jennifer B.

Breeder of Miniature Australian Shepherds

Meet the breeder

I'm Jennifer B., the breeder behind Sand Dollar Aussies located in Terrell, TX. We take pride in producing healthy puppies with ideal dispositions, without sacrificing true Aussie breed type. Our dogs are more than just pets - they sleep with us, come with us on vacations, and go with Mom to horse shows. We strive to create wonderful and athletic members of the family.

Q. & A. with Jennifer

  • Why did you start breeding?

We fell in love with the Miniature Australian Shepherd after seeing one at a horse show. I loved the "velcro" aspect of the breed, along with their kind and willing demeanor. We began our search initially looking for a pet quality dog, but after seeing so many purebreds that looked like mixed breeds (sacrificing Aussie breed type for color/size), we decided to become quality breeders.
  • What makes your program special?

We have an extremely small program. We currently only have two females and one male. (All of which work our horse farm with us and spend the rest of their time being house dogs). Our puppies are raised in our kitchen, and we believe in early physical and auditory stimulation to create well-adjusted and happy pets. For that reason, we are also proud to be Puppy Culture breeders.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle and red merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
