Q. & A. with Sandra

  • Why did you start breeding?

Our love for Dachshunds is what inspired us to start breeding. We fell in love with their loyal personalities, playful spirit, intelligence, and affectionate nature. They quickly became more than pets—they became members of our family. We wanted to share the joy of owning these incredible dogs with others by raising healthy, well-socialized puppies that would become cherished companions. Every litter is raised with the same love and care we give our own dogs, and nothing is more rewarding than matching our puppies with families who will love them as much as we do.
  • What makes your program special?

At Sandy's Long Haired Doxies, we believe every puppy deserves the very best start in life. As a small, in-home breeder, we intentionally raise only a limited number of litters so each puppy receives the individual love, attention, and socialization they deserve. Our breeding program focuses on health, temperament, and breed quality. Our puppies are raised in our home—not in kennels—where they become accustomed to everyday household sounds and interactions. We spend time handling each puppy daily to help build confidence and prepare them for a smooth transition into their new families. What truly sets us apart is the relationships we build. We take the time to get to know each family, help match them with the right puppy, and remain available as a resource throughout their dog's life. We love receiving updates as our puppies grow and become cherished members of their forever homes. For us, responsible breeding isn't just about producing beautiful puppies—it's about giving every puppy the healthiest, happiest start possible and supporting the families who welcome them home.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies are sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

“Choosing the right puppy is an important decision, and we want every family to feel confident in their choice. We encourage prospective families to meet their puppy in person whenever possible so they can interact with them and see their personality firsthand. We welcome visits to our home by appointment. If an in-person visit isn't possible, we're happy to schedule a live video call so you can meet the puppy, ask questions, and see them in real time. Our goal is to ensure every puppy is matched with the family that's the best fit for both.”
