Meet the breeder

I'm Jessica B., the breeder behind Sassy Shelties located in Springtown, TX. We breed to the AKC Confirmation standard, and we use the Puppy Culture method with all of our puppies.

Q. & A. with Jessica

  • Why did you start breeding?

I have always loved animals, and I fell in love with the Shetland Sheepdog breed. So, I found a mentor and began studying and showing the breed. The next logical step after that is to start breeding quality dogs that I continue to show today.
  • What makes your program special?

I use the knowledge that I have gained over the past 16 years to help produce the best dogs possible. Along with that I make sure all my dogs are tested for known conditions in our breed and keep up to date with any knew genetic testing that may be suggested.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle white and tan, blue merle and white, sable and white, black white and tan, and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
