I'm Lucy L., the breeder behind Sausagedog-NYC located in New York, NY. My puppies are raised along side young children. We are a family that loves our Dachshunds and so we spread that love by provided exceptional quality, healthy puppies to other forever families. Our dogs have great temperaments and don’t have any health issues.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    My love and compassion for dogs pushed me to begin hobby breeding. Just like you I was once looking to bring a beautiful healthy puppies home for my kids. The majority of breeders out there only care about making money, you don’t know if you are buying a sick puppy since they don’t let this poor mothers get some rest they have a litter 1 after another. I want to be able to make a difference!

  • What makes your program special?

    I am a very responsible dachshund breeder. My dedication to the welfare of my dogs is my top priority, and my commitment to be producing healthy and well-tempered puppies. I am a dachshund owner since 2011. Please remember: Puppies are just babies and should be considered as such. If you’re not prepare emotionally, financially or have the space to care for a dog don’t buy 1.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, red, black and tan, and chocolate and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Lucy

Lucy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Lucy partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,000 - $2,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“My puppies are vet checked & up to date on shots & wormer. All well socialized & currently being family raised with children! I also provide a 1 Year Genetic Health Guarantee for my puppies. The non-refundable deposit for a puppy guarantees you the puppy you like and also ensures me that you are buying it.”

Lucy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.     Lucy was a dream to work with, I have been wanting a dachshund for the past 15 years. When I saw Fiona (her Winnie) I knew she was the one. She even cared for Fiona for almost a month longer after the original pickup day so that my fiancé and I could settle into our new place. In regard to my puppies temperament she has been great with babies, other dogs and even my cat who I have had for the last eight years. This experience has been more than amazing and I really recommend Lucy to anyone who wants a healthy beautiful dachshund.     This was our first experience with getting a puppy and if we're completely honest, we were quite nervous at the start. When we saw Lily's photos we wanted to meet her right away! Lucy's family was taking care of Lily so well and even though we were beginners at this, she completely made the whole process of taking care and adopting Lily easy and smooth. Even after 6 months of getting Lily, she still consistently helps us out when we are confused about something. We were so lucky to find Lucy.
