Meet the breeder

I'm Helen, the breeder behind Schloss Velburg Dobermanns located in Chagrin Falls, OH. We have been sharing our lives with dogs for as long as we can remember and we cannot imagine our home without Dobermanns! We combine our passion for dogs with background in Schutzhund to bring you the best of European Dobermann - dogs with great temperaments, proven health and longevity. Our network of friends include select breeders and veterinarians from various countries in Europe, which allows us to concentrate and select dogs from top bloodlines. Our most important goal, however, is to ensure that both our puppies and our new puppy parents are happy and that we have a match made in heaven! Please fill out the application before contacting us. Puppies are placed with qualified homes only.

Q. & A. with Helen

  • Why did you start breeding?

We have extensive network of friends, partners and simply people involved with Dobermanns from all over Europe and we wanted to bring all the wonderful aspects of European Dobermann here to the US.
  • What makes your program special?

We have long-term relationships with top European breeders and veterinarians from all over Europe, so we can bring a great degree of diversity into our program. We travel to Europe on a regular basis to attend shows and competitions, so we have an opportunity to meet top European dogs and their breeders in person.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and rust, blue and rust, fawn (isabella) and rust, and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
