Meet the breeder

I'm Donna I., the breeder behind Schnauzers Of Taylor located in Temple, TX. Please note-We do not hold puppies. Holding is required or puppy will still be available. I put a lot of personal care and attention into every puppy. I try to avoid chemical dewormers or flea control, keep my puppy area clear of any toxic cleaners or lawn products and feed a species appropriate diet of veggies and good food. I use early neurological stimulation and scent introduction to provide a dog with superior mental and emotional stability, same program used by the military and therapy dog organizations. Every puppy is raised around my family, other dogs, and are exposed to multiple environments prior to leaving our home. Parents are AKC registered and health tested. Puppies are only given pet registration. I am a minimal vaccination breeder. My adult dogs only receive titers before vaccines if available. Mini Schnauzers and Mini Schnoodles are sold as pet homes only unless arrangements and special approval are discussed. Mini Schnoodles will have natural tails and dewclaws. Mini Schnauzers may have tails and dewclaws left if picked and paid in full by day 3 of age. We utilize guardian homes for most of our adult dogs and we have whelpers that help us deliver litters. It takes a village to raise puppies right, love the adults as family and provide the best care possible. Holding fees are due in order to hold your puppy. Finial balances are due at 8 weeks either at go home vet check or at pick up. Puppies are required to be paid in full by 8 weeks. If a puppy stays past the date i have set for pick up there’s a $20 per day fee. We are a very small home Preservationist-Breed Specialist so expect to wait for special request our wonderful puppies!!

Q. & A. with Donna

  • Why did you start breeding?

My first schnauzer Pepper was such a joy and blessing for me in my teenage years. I don't think I would of survived them without him. Pepper was bought from a pet store and I remember my parents pulling every last penny they had to buy me this $300 dollar puppy. Little did we know how in love we would be with the schnauzer breed after that. Pepper lived to be 16 yrs old.
  • What makes your program special?

We are a Christian family that loves schnauzers. Loves the breed and sleeps with one or more nightly. I started by only breeding for black miniature schnauzers but have added have added beautiful colors recognized by AKC like salt/pepper, livers or a parti. I guarantee every one of my babies. If you haven't got health and a breeder you can count on, it doesn't matter how beautiful or friendly a miniature schnauzer puppy is. Schnauzers can have many genetic conditions that are often un-foreseen. My goal is to produce the best quality, not quantity. A high quality miniature schnauzer is the combination of the steadfast health, the character with right temperament and the look of a schnauzer. Mini Schnoodles were added about 4 years ago for therapy options. Poodles are my next favorite breed, hypoallergenic and so smart. It only makes sense to have a mix of the best family pet breeds. We do not do this alone. We use guardian homes for our girls so they never have to worry about where they will retire to. We also have guardian homes that help us whelp the litters. Litters are raised by our protocols until weaned and then they come to our home. Holding fees are $800. Holding fees are non-refundable but are transferable to another litter. All finial payments are due at 8 weeks.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Miniature Schnauzer puppies include parti, liver, salt and pepper, black and silver, and black. Schnoodle puppies include parti, gray, black and white, black and tan, black, and apricot. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

It has been a fun and busy three weeks with our sweet Charlie boy. He is so smart, active and busy for a little guy! He is already sleeping through the night in his crate and we are working on house training. Donna was so great to work with and kept us updated on our pup. I highly recommend Schnauzers Of Taylor! Who knows maybe next year we will get Charlie a sister!😜

Almost 5 years ago, I was so sad after losing my yorkie. That's when I connected with Donna, and told her I needed a friend. My whole family missed her sweet cuddly nature. We were so sad. She said, "I know the right puppy for you." She was sooo right...the moment I saw Penny (from Libby and Thorin), that she was going to be my baby girl. Oh how I love her much...we all do. She is our Penny Winny...so loving, smart, beautiful. She brings our whole family together. So when my oldest daughter lost her baby...I knew what I had to do. I reached out to Donna again. And guess what, she hit the nail on the head. Oh my, sweet little Zara (Sienna and Brecon). My daughter got a cutie patootie, She was a surprise for my daughter who was afraid to give her heart to another puppy after losing hers. But I knew it was time from the moment their eyes locked. I don't think my daughter had put little Zara down. The reason I trust Donna, is the care and love that is shown to the puppies, the mothers, and dads. She is patient with them and with us, her customers. She listens and had a gift to choose exactly the baby that you need. Thank you Donna and SOT for the love you've given me and my family ❤️

I brought my puppy Emmy home two weeks ago and she has been an absolute joy! Donna was so communicative, thoughtful, and informative throughout the entire process. It’s clear how much love and care she puts into raising her puppies and she shared so many helpful tips that made me feel prepared and confident going in as a first time pet owner. I’ve been so happy with how well Emmy has adjusted to her new home. She was calm during her first few days and slept really well. Donna recommended items to have on hand that Emmy was used to and I think that also helped make it a smooth transition. It’s been so much fun getting to watch Emmy get more comfortable and see her personality start to shine through. I’m so grateful to Donna for making the entire experience such a positive one and I would definitely work with her again in the future!
