I'm Melisa S., the breeder behind Schultz Yorkies byGrace located in Gatesville, TX. Our Yorkie are rigorously DNA tested for diseases. Our puppies are raised in a home not a Kennel. Our dogs sleep in bed with us as they are not breeding stock they are our family. We don't breed every year. Our dogs love to travel. Our dogs visit the senior centers. Many of our dogs are service dogs.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Just started breeding my 2 very special yorkies. I have had a breeding program before of another breed several years ago. Retired that breed. I am more of a hobby breeder that enjoyes to connect with my Yorkie owners group. We have great reunions that have brought much joy, laughter and fun to my life

  • What makes your program special?

    We breed for health, temperaments & companionship. Our goal is to have good healthy, socialized puppies to be able to enter service dog training if the buyer so desires. We breed for Health number 1. We breed standard size. We try to stay in the range of 5-7.5lbs, for our services dogs we do like them slightly above average size. This just is a hardier animal to work 7-12lbs is our optimal goal

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase. Schultz Yorkies byGrace reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Yorkshire Terriers.

  • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Wisdom Panel, PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific), DNA Profile, DNA Coat/Trait Panel

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Best experience EVER! Melissa cares for the puppies as if they were her own. They are socialized, loved and cared for beyond. The puppies health comes first. Puppies are with both Mom and Dad and Melissa spends most of her time devoted to their care. I will not go to anyone else for A puppy. She is as fabulous and the puppies!
