Meet the breeder

I'm Olivia S., the breeder behind Schweers Goldens and Doodles located in Gales Ferry, CT. At Schweers Goldens & Doodles, we raise every litter inside our home with our five kids, two Goldens, and a whole lot of love. Based in Southeastern CT, we focus on health-tested, family-friendly Golden Retrievers, Goldendoodles, and Bernedoodles with outstanding temperaments. Our puppies are socialized, handled daily, and sent home with the same care and intention we give our own dogs.

Q. & A. with Olivia

  • Why did you start breeding?

My love for dogs began early with my mom’s Golden Retriever and Corgi breeding program. I even showed my Golden, Butterscotch, as a kid. In 2017, Matt and I began breeding Goldens together, and it quickly became our passion. Today we proudly raise Golden Retrievers and doodle litters that make incredible family companions.
  • What makes your program special?

What sets our program apart is the way we raise our puppies—right in the center of our home, surrounded by our kids, daily routines, and constant interaction. Every parent dog is health-tested, loved, and part of our family. We focus on temperament, intentional pairing, early socialization, and honest communication with our families. Our goal is to send you home with the perfect companion!
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include mini, medium, and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include sable, black, black and white, tri-color, phantom, and blue merle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We got our puppy from Olivia and it was the best decision ever. Working with Olivia made our puppy journey pleasant… From day one Olivia has been very transparent, always ready to answer questions and concerns and also kept us updated by sharing photos and videos. Since Olivia keeps the litter in the middle of her house, and so my puppy was already aciu restart customed to meeting different family members, hearing different types of noises. I would highly recommend Olivia to anybody that I know of..

Olivia was great! Readily available to answer questions, worked to hear my perspective and help me understand the answers as they applied to our family’s needs. Our puppy is wonderful. Smart, curious and social all while being calm and easy-going. He came to us clearly having boundaries in place with a whole lot of love! I would definitely recommend Olivia as a breeder!
