I'm Andrea & Roberto B., the breeder behind Scotch McLaren Terriers located in Conroe, TX. We love Scottish Terriers. Our mission is to raise pups that are set to become the best companions. Our dogs are our passion, and we can't imagine our lives without them. We are dedicated to achieving excellence and healthy family pets, have excellent temperament and are started to good behavior.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    Once set on the breed, we did extensive research to select per breed standards and DNA screening to be clear of hereditary ailments. We have wheaten and black, although our offspring is generally black. We live in Texas, but they would rather live in a Scotland, they love colder weather and snow. They have changed our lives, we walk religiously and are best companions. Breeding is a lot of work.

  • What makes your program special?

    These are some of the traits we have seen in our parent and puppy dogs: great temperament, playful, love attention, social, problem solvers, love and seek your companionship while at the same time do well being independent, enjoy watching TV and smartphone, love to go for walks, expressive and sometimes even verbal personalities, they will let you know what they want.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include wheaten and black. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Andrea & Roberto

Andrea & Roberto has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Andrea & Roberto partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“A good Scottish Terrier owner, to us, is one that is experienced with the breed, know that they are bad swimmers (have no pool or protected pool area), have a fenced play area (i.e. your backyard), have kids that are old enough to understand how to respect a dog, and will be committed to giving them the best life possible (insurance, best possible food with some home-cooked, on top of vaccines and de-wormers), think long term, will keep them healthy and exercising (daily walks of at least 30 minutes).”

Puppy prices include a $600 deposit and $1,900 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Puppies can go to forever homes after they are 8 weeks old. They can be registered with the AKC (limited registration), and they will have their first round of vaccines and will be dewormed. Deposits are for reserving your puppy, the puppy will not be counted as available or offered to potential owners. Balance can be paid off prior to picking up the puppy. Boarding charges may apply.”

Buying a dog can be stressful, but they made me feel completely reassured and safe throughout the process. When I drove out for pickup, they were fully prepared with all the necessary information and even a sweet puppy bag to send home with us. Roberto was also very open to answering my questions in person. You can really tell they are an experienced breeder—they even provided printed care instructions covering ages two months to 12 years!     Andrea and Roberto were truly a dream to work with. From initial interaction they were super informative and responsive and kept that same attention to detail throughout the whole process. When I messaged initially, they invited me over to actually meet the puppies in person. I went in thinking I wanted a boy but fell in love with my Juniper Belle. It was evident from their set up and the temperament both of the puppies and the older dogs that they were well taken care of. No matter what questions I had they were more than willing to help and make sure I felt confident in my decisions. They sent plenty of updates throughout the process that just reaffirmed that even after the payment process was completed that they baseline truly just have a love for this breed and care about the owners they go to. Picking up Junie was a breeze and I was sent home feeling more than confident I made the right choice. I will be forever thankful I found them through Good Dog.

    We just picked up our little Scottie puppy from Roberto and Andrea, and we could not be happier with the entire experience. From the very beginning, it was clear how much they genuinely care about their dogs. The puppies are happy, energetic, healthy, and obviously raised with a tremendous amount of love and attention. Throughout the month we were waiting for our puppy, Roberto and Andrea were incredibly responsive and kept us updated constantly with tons of pictures and videos. They made the whole process exciting and reassuring from start to finish. What really stood out to us, though, was how kind and genuine they were in person. We arranged to meet at the airport, and they were there right on time when we arrived. When I mentioned that we were planning to Uber to Petco afterward to pick up some supplies, they immediately offered to drive us there themselves. They absolutely did not have to do that, and it says so much about the kind of people they are. If you're looking for a beautiful Scottish Terrier from people who truly care about their dogs and the families they go home with, Roberto and Andrea are the people to call. I genuinely could not recommend them highly enough. We are incredibly grateful for our new puppy and for such a wonderful experience from beginning to end.

    Andrea and Roberto were always super responsive and helpful with preparing for our new puppy. They were so knowledgeable and kept me up to date with everything. They sent me pictures constantly and when I would ask for videos they would make sure to send me some too. When we picked up our Ruby, they were super kind and even gave us a puppy pack it was so useful !! It came with toys, food, treats, and even a blanket with her mommas scent it was perfect. I’m genuinely so happy everything went smoothly and if anyone is looking for the cutest Scottie’s I would recommend Scotch McLaren Terriers to anyone !! Big thank you to Andrea and Roberto for everything.
