I'm Pat Z., the breeder behind Shadomoon located in Kittanning, PA. All our dogs are fully health tested through the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals with the breed parent club suggested standards as well as DNA tested for all relevant health concerns. And while we show and compete with our dogs in a variety of sports, our main goal is having beloved pets.

Why did you start breeding?
Shadomoon started as a dream that later became a reality. Having always loved animals and a desire to compete and train, it seemed like a match made in heaven to get involved in the dog world.What makes your program special?
We are dedicated to keeping a small family group of dogs as our dogs are our pets first. And while we show and compete with our dogs in a variety of sports, our main goal is having beloved pets. Dogs that are capable of doing it all; whether that be a master agility dog, champion show dog, hiking buddy, best fetcher in the world, or certified bed hog; we are devoted to our dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Golden Retriever puppies include dark golden, golden, and light golden. Australian Shepherd puppies include red & white, black & white, red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
Getting a puppy from Pat
Pat has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
Pat partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
“We prioritize matching puppies to families based on behavior and energy level rather than color. However, we understand everyone has preferences and do our best to accommodate them in order to find the best possible match. Sometimes the most unexpected matches turn out to be the perfect fit!”

“All our puppies come with a health guarantee, AKC registration, first vaccinations, deworming, and examined by a Veterinarian. For our Aussies, their eyes are cleared by a canine Ophthalmologist.”

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
