I'm Tammera C., the breeder behind Shady Banks Kennel located in Beaufort County, NC. My journey to this world has been a unique one. The search for a service dog led me to a rare and unique breed, the Spanish Water Dog. I'm lucky to work with a knowledgeable mentor with years of experience. This breed needs special TLC. Let me help you decide if it's right for you.
Q. & A. with Tammera
Why did you start breeding?
My Bernedoodle was a blessing in my life as my service dog and I began to explore what the perfect breed would be for alert dogs. A companion animal who is smart, trainable, focused on their owner, nose talented and a little stubborn. The Spanish Water was that dog. I found a breeder that would share her knowledge with me and all those secrets to train a SWD for a good family dog.
What makes your program special?
I have high expectations for my puppies and strive to place each one in an enriching and loving home! While I know that not every pup in each litter will grow up to become a service dog, I am confident that each one will become a treasured family member!
What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Bernedoodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Spanish Water Dog puppies include white and black, white and beige w/brown nose, brown and white, black and white, beige and white w/brown nose, and beige and white w/black nose. Bernedoodle puppies are black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
