Meet the breeder

I'm Alana B., the breeder behind Shaggy Hill Homestead located in Molalla, OR. We are a small family homestead on 26 acres. I fell in love with the Cardigan Welsh Corgi about 5 years ago and decided as a retirement gift to myself, I would buy my first girl. I am a new breeder and have not stepped into this lightly. I have done my research and have 2 very wonderful mentors that are known nationally for their breeding programs. I have yet to have our first litter, but will have one in the very near future. My primary focus is improving the breed by prioritizing health, temperament, and functional conformation over appearance.

Q. & A. with Alana

  • Why did you start breeding?

After I purchased my first Cardigan, I went on a deep dive of the breed and acquired a couple of mentors that are know nationally for their expertise with breeding and the breed. I have not yet had my first litter but will in the very near future.
  • What makes your program special?

I am not in this venture to make money. My focus is to continue to improve the breed and maintain quality genetics.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle and white and black and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.
