I'm Melissa, Trevor, and Leah S., the breeder behind Shaggy Shepherd Farm located in Illinois. We are lifelong dog enthusiasts, and we’re excited to share our passion and purpose with others through our breeding program. We fell in love with the breed because of their intelligence and personality. There’s hardly a better feeling than being able to share them with other families that will love them the way that we do!

Why did you start breeding?
My sophomore year threw an unexpected curve at me... in other words, I moved schools. I quickly realized my potential at my new (bigger) school which provided a strong FFA program. I decided then that this was my chance to carry out what I thought could only be a dream of mine, and make it a reality. With the support of both my family and community, I created a business as well as an FFA SAE.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle and black tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
