Meet the breeder

I'm Shannon T., the breeder behind Shannon’s Sweet and Sassy Shih Tzu’s located in Sherman, TX. We love to responsibly raise and train our puppies so they have the tools to be well-rounded, beloved family members. We are a simple, family-run breeding program offering loving and loyal companions to others. We focus on quality care and health with each litter we raise.

Q. & A. with Shannon

  • Why did you start breeding?

I bought a puppy from a breeder and she hates car rides, grooming including brushing and hair cuts, gets nervous around people. I wanted to raise puppies who are use to riding in the car, grooming, and different people. I want to raise social butterflies, who enjoy getting in the car and going along for all the rides and life’s journey. Who are also use to bathing, grooming as we groom weekly, bathe weekly and toe nail trims weekly. We practice on steps so that they experience steps.
  • What makes your program special?

*AKC Registration Papers with Full Registration  * Lifetime Breeder Support * 1 Year Congenital Health Guarantee – we back our puppies! * Veterinarian Health Check on each puppy from the vet * Vaccines up to date from veterinary office * Dewormed up to date, negative fecal test. * Puppies have been raised & socialized in home among our family, loved beyond measure, and raised in a clean living environment. * Puppies go home with Blue Buffalo puppy chicken, dry dog food. * Puppies have been using potty pads, but will require ongoing training and supervision at this age. * Puppies have been introduced to car rides at an early age to help prevent car sickness and anxieties later in life. * Puppies have been introduced to grooming and grooming tools to help acclimate them weekly. * Puppies nails are trimmed weekly, multiple times before they go home. * Puppies receive sanitary trims before they go home. * Puppies have been introduced and socialized to other dogs. * Puppies have been exposed to toys and will take familiar toys home with them. * Puppies will take a blanket that smells like mom and littermates home with you. * Puppies have been exposed to a variety of sights, sounds, textures, and experiences during the critical early developmental stage. * Lifetime Welcome Back Policy. Shannon’s Shih Tzu puppies and dogs are always welcome back home here, at any point in their lives if you cannot keep them (no refunds but they can come home, never to a shelter!
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black and tan, black, and liver. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Loved working with Shannon. Very quick to respond sent additional photo's of our little Mattie Lou. We love Mattie Lou so much and such a cutie. When we arrived we were greetd and welcomed. She had all the puppies in a clean doggin play pin. They all smelled so clean and seemed so happy. You can tell she takes care of her babies before they go to their forever home. Loved working with Shannon. She ever checked up on us a few days later. Sent a care paakcage with Mattie and was respnosive with any beofe questions about food and care. We highly recommed Shannon.

We were first-time owners. Shannon walked us through each step of the process. She took time to answer all our questions and concerns. She shared the names of the products she uses, to help make our new fur baby’s transition as easy as possible. It is obvious that Shannon loves each puppy as if she were keeping them for her family. We highly recommend Shannon, if you are looking for a Shih Tzu to add to your family.

Shannon was wonderful from the first interaction. Her love for what she does and for the pups is unmatched compared to other breeders I spoke with. We were in touch regularly with chats, photos, and videos as we counted down to pick up day for our little Jaxson! We actually got connected to the flight nanny to have Jaxson brought to the DC area and Tee (flight nanny) was also fabulous and reasonably priced. Since picking up Jaxson he has us smiling and laughing daily at his cute little self!!! He’s absolutely adorable, very healthy, and active young pup. He’s exactly what we needed in our home! I have a feeling we will be working with Shannon again in the future 😁

Shannon was so responsive and knowledgeable about the breed, she provided us updates frequently that included pictures, videos and vet visits of our new pup. I would recommend working with Shannon for your new Shit Tzu puppy, their dogs are very well cared for, our pup is now three weeks at home and very well acclimated, she feels like one of the family, she is basically house trained (we are using the bell method, and she is ringing it with very few accidents). It was more important to us that we found a good breeder and were willing to travel to go pick up our new pup than just any breeder that was simply, we travelled 200 miles to go pick up our new pup, my point here is that the process mattered.

Working with Shannon was an incredible experience. Shannon is a caring, ethical, and knowledgeable Shih Tzu breeder who goes above and beyond. From regular photo and video updates to quick responses, the process was seamless. Our puppy Annie is healthy, sweet, and well-adjusted—our vet even commented on her excellent condition! Thank you, Shannon, for your dedication and love for your dogs.
