Meet the breeder

I'm Susan R., the breeder behind S.H.A.R.P.’s Toy Poodles located in Bedford, TX. We breed for the best pet qualities in poodle babies, such as socialization, healthy, happy, loving, easy going personalities, good genetics & conformation. We are dedicated to providing new families & puppies with a positive experience, which include remaining committed to responsible practices when it comes to breeding, training, & placing our puppies.

Q. & A. with Susan

  • Why did you start breeding?

I started breeding Toy Poodles after 3 years of extensive research of the breed & then found & adopted our 1st Toy Poodle, Chrissee. Lots of phone calls with lots questions to AKC & Paw Print Genetics, as well as many reputable Poodle Breeders. If I was going to do it I wanted to do it right & for the betterment of the breed.
  • What makes your program special?

Our babies come from a home environment, NOT a Kennel or yard. Our adults live in our home with us as part of our family & they go on vacation with us, they are NOT boarded. Our adults are Genetic Health Tested through Paw Print Genetics. They are vetted with our amazing vet, Dr. Martin @ Palo Pinto Vet Clinic & spoiled rotten.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies are miniature size. Poodle puppies are toy size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Dachshund puppies include sable, piebald, cream, red, chocolate, brindle, chocolate and cream, chocolate and tan, blue and cream, blue and tan, black and cream, and black and tan. Poodle puppies include sable, apricot, blue, brown, red, silver, silver-beige, parti, phantom, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

We are very happy that we found Susan on GoodDog. Susan was very responsive and a delight to deal with. She’s pleasant and helpful. She went beyond our expectations as a breeder. We love our new puppy, Gigi. She is a delight. From day one, Gigi was great. She didn’t make a fuss over staying in a crate for the night and is so easy to train that we are left feeling blessed. GoodDog made my search for a responsible breeder easy and painless. In addition, it made the purchase process painless and quick. I will strongly recommend it.

Susan was absolutely wonderful to work with in bringing Archie home! She is a fantastic breeder with excellent communication every step of the way. Archie is truly the best, and it’s clear how much care and love she puts into her puppies. The take-home basket she provided went above and beyond—complete with a bed, toothbrush, many toys, food, puppy pads, and so much more. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would 100% recommend Susan to anyone—I would happily work with her again!

Susan is an amazing breeder. She loves the puppies. She shared videos with me so I could see the puppies grow and play. The experience was my first working with a breeder and I could not ask for anything better. I highly recommend Susan.

Susan was very responsive and sent updates about my baby girl on a weekly basis. She also made sure we had everything we needed by giving us a puppy care package with a bed, bowls, toys, food ect. My baby girl came to me already puppy pad training. I couldn’t have been more happier with the process and the end result! Thanks Susan!

Our lovely poodle is easy to train and caught on to potty in pans so easily and it took just 1 day for her to learn to sit and lay down and walk on leash first time. I would buy another poodle from Susan because she is so caring. We love our Domino. We actually drove from Virginia to Dallas to get her. Susan was so generous with supplies and gifts for our puppy’s trip home and her easy transition. We recommend Susan and her puppies. Thank you Susan!

Although I fell in love with Lily I never dreamed I’d fall in love with Susan too. No question was a dumb one and she guided me through the entire experience. Adopting Lily was full of Gods blessings that were meant to be.
