I'm Laura S., the breeder behind Shaw Dachshunds located in Apache Junction, AZ. We cherish each of our dogs and puppies, and we do everything we can to make sure that they get the best lives possible. That includes everything from choosing healthy parents with good temperaments, to proper socialization and daily care, to placing them in loving homes with wonderful families.

Why did you start breeding?
In 2007 my daughter who was graduating 8th grade got a dachshund and we thought it would be fun to breed. Not knowing anything about breeding we jumped in head first! Everything bad that could have happened did happen and we almost lost the mom. We had to learn quickly. We bottle feed the babies every two hours and nursed mom back to health too.What makes your program special?
We raise our puppies in our living room so they get exposed to all household noise and interact with us and our adult dog's every day. My husband is home while I'm working as a dog trainer.What are the different breed sizes in your program?
Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include cream, red, chocolate and cream, black and cream, blue and tan, black and tan, and chocolate and tan. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $2,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

DNA Coat/Trait Panel, Early Onset Progressive Retinal Atrophy (EOPRA), DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
