  • Why did you start breeding?

    I began many years ago as a Jr. Handler for Kennel Clubs, and currently exhibit my dogs in AKC shows . Teaching young pups before they go to their forever homes is a pleasure of mine. The Shih Tzu is the best of the toy breed , very adaptable for any environment. Shih Tzu's are a very loving, loyal. Definitely one of the most cherished crowd-pleasing breed known for child like quality.

  • What makes your program special?

    I have hand selected the Shih Tzu's that I currently have for their quality of breed, family history of health and specific type. My sires and Dams come from show stock all of which are of quality purebred lines. All of which have no history or genetic defects. Health and quality are my number one priority. The Shih Tzu is an outgoing and affectionate dog, perfect for everyone.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate and tan, chocolate, black, liver, red, white, black gold and white, liver and white, gold and white, black and white, and silver gold and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Tami

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Tami partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $250 deposit and between $2,250 - $2,750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Males $2500 Females $ 3000 all come with Pre-paid AKC & CKC registered papers. If you are looking for a puppy not listed ask me about waitlist. We also have financing available. . A reservation fee is required after approval of application and you have personally spoken with me, it is a removal from marketing. The reservation is your commitment towards adopting the puppy.”

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Standard Veterinary Blood Panel

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

    Tami was great to work with. We came home with Munchkin and she is delightful, smart and we couldn’t be happier. Munchkin passed with flying colors at the vet. Tami recommended great shampoo and conditioner, great food, treats and pumpkin sauce. Munchkin is now 13 weeks old and she is very smart. She is already crate trained and potty trained.     My husband and I had been looking into getting a puppy. We are both in our 70’s and wanted a small dog we could travel with. We had both decided a a Shih Tzu because of size, temperament, etc. we wanted to buy from a breeder. I discovered Good Dog and then found Tami. I texted her regarding a little female that happened to be the runt of the litter. We drove there the next day to meet Tami and Bella (Lucy). We were able to meet the mother and father of Bella. I could tell right away Tami was an excellent breeder who care about all her dogs and puppies. My husband and I both fell immediately in love with Bella. We told Tami we wanted Bella and would come back to get her in several days while I went home to prepare for her homecoming. When we went back to get Bella, Tami had prepared a going home bag for her, with a blanket, bath towel, stuffed animal, food and a few supplements. It was such a great experience working with Tami, she is so caring of her animals. Bella has settled into her new home and we love her so much. Thank you Tami from Shih Tzu Kennels.
