Meet the breeder

I'm Girlie E., the breeder behind Shih Tzu Puppy in Maryland located in Frederick, MD. We are a family of passionate Shih Tzu lovers, who have embarked on a wonderful journey of breeding to share the joy of these furry companions with others. Our aim is to produce the most exceptional puppies with lovable personalities, great temperaments, and excellent health, all while ensuring they make perfect family members. Our love for Shih Tzu is ingrained in every aspect of our lives, and we couldn't imagine a world without them. As a family, we are wholly dedicated to achieving excellence and continually work to further our education to improve our breeding program.

Q. & A. with Girlie

  • Why did you start breeding?

My passion for Shih Tzu and desire to share my love for the breed with others initially led me to breeding. I see breeding as a means of producing healthy and happy Shih Tzus that can bring joy and companionship to people's lives. But over time, I discovered that breeding was my true calling. I have assisted families who have lost their cherished pets, fulfilled the longings of those searching for their perfect puppy, provided comfort to those experiencing emotional distress, and even aided families who were unable to conceive children. My breeding program is not just a business, it is a profound connection that imbues my life with significance and direction.
  • What makes your program special?

I pour my heart and soul into my breeding program. Each and every one of my puppies is bred with love, care, and attention to detail. From the moment they start crawling, I start potty training them and raising them inside my home, treating them like my own children. I want them to have the best start in life possible, which is why I prioritize their health, temperament, and socialization. To ensure that my puppies are healthy, I have them checked by a licensed veterinarian, vaccinate them appropriately, deworm them, and provide a written health guarantee. I also offer personalized training to help them adjust to their new home and I conduct DNA testing on both of the puppy’s parents through Embark to give my customers peace of mind that they are getting a healthy puppy. As a devoted breeder of a cherished breed, I have a strong passion for my work and nothing brings me more joy than sharing adorable photos and heartwarming videos of my puppies on social media. Through these means, I am thrilled to bring joy to others and share my love for my furry family. I consider myself a member of the adoption process, working closely with my customers as if they were a part of my extended family. With my warm and attentive approach, I offer adoption support to ensure a smooth transition for both the new puppy and their human companions. My ultimate goal is to ensure that each and every one of my puppies finds a loving home where they can thrive and be a cherished member of their new family. I hope that my breeding program reflects the love and care that I have for each and every one of my puppies.

Girlie E. of Maryland Shih Tzus gave me absolute joy and much-need warmth in the form of a Shih Tzu male she bred named Bear. Girlie sent videos and messages consistently and quickly whenever I requested as she prepared for me to bring Bear into my home. She kindly accommodated any of my questions and concerns about Bear and how he might adjust to me and my apartment as new owner and new home. She took impeccable medical care of Bear which helped in the transition to my home-based veterinarian. From food recommendation and treats to a blanket and dog toy with Bear's mother's scent, Girlie gave me all that I would need for Bear's transition home. Girlie has kindly kept in contact with me, as questions arose while Bear settled into my home. Girlie is a remarkably kind, informed, and positive person who has enriched my life by breeding Bear and arranging for him to live with me.
