Q. & A. with Kimberly

  • What makes your program special?

Our breeding program is built on quality, health, and temperament above all else. We carefully select our Shih Tzu parents for their structure, genetics, and loving personalities to ensure each puppy reflects the true standard of the breed. Every puppy is raised in a hands-on home environment where they receive daily interaction, early socialization, and attentive care. From the moment they are born, they are handled, loved, and monitored closely so they grow into confident, well-adjusted companions. We prioritize responsible breeding practices by keeping our program small and focused, allowing us to give each puppy the attention it deserves. Our puppies leave current on vaccinations, microchipped, and with the strong foundation they need to transition smoothly into their new families. For us, breeding is not just about producing puppies — it is about preserving the beauty, health, and wonderful temperament that makes the Shih Tzu such a beloved companion.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

Kimberly was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She had to walk me through purchasing my little gem. Kimberly made sure my little darling got the best start in her life. She will always be tiny. Kimberly made sure she got the right fit into the right family. She made sure it would be a great fit. It went smoothly from the beginning My husband is so in love with his sweet little girl.

Kim is an exceptional breeder, and I truly can’t recommend her highly enough. She goes above and beyond for her puppies, and her care and dedication are evident every step of the way. She was incredibly responsive throughout the entire process, which made everything feel smooth and reassuring. Initially, I was a bit hesitant about using Good Dog, expecting a long waitlist and a drawn-out process. But Kim quickly exceeded those expectations—she responded to my message within 30 minutes, and we were able to FaceTime that same evening. That’s when I met Princess Mocha (now Harli Quinn) and instantly knew she was the one. Although the two-week wait to bring Harli home felt long (because I was so excited!), Kim made it much easier by regularly sending photos and videos and arranging FaceTime calls so I could stay connected. She was incredibly patient and thorough in answering all of my questions—especially since it had been about 20 years since I last had a puppy. One thing that really stood out was her thoughtfulness: when I mentioned transitioning Harli to a new food, Kim kindly offered to start the process herself to make things easier for her. That level of care meant so much to me. I feel so lucky to have found Kim and will absolutely continue recommending her to anyone looking for a Shih Tzu. In fact, I’ve already recommended her to someone I met on my flight back to Texas!

We are very happy with our puppy we got from Kimberly. She is very knowledgeable about the breed and very caring. She was responsive during the entire Good Dog experience and this puppy has been one of the most easily adjusted pups into our home. Her love and care for the breed and caring for them makes adjustments to a new home so easy for both pups and pet parents. We are in love with our new furbaby and thank Kimberly from bottom of our hearts. 💜

From the beginning, Kimberly was there. She always responded promptly, displayed infinite knowledge, and offered support for the life of the dog. If I had conjured up a breeder, I could not have asked for a better one. Lady Ray and I are building a lasting relationship, and Kimberly is part of our family too. I am so grateful for Kimberly and the beautiful little girl she has entrusted to me.

When we first decided to get a new furry family member, we wanted to make sure we were doing the responsible thing by finding a breeder who truly cares for their animals. We were sold a puppy with parvo 6 years ago and the breeder lied about everything, leaving us to pay thousands of dollars to watch it pass. We waited years to even consider getting another dog. That being said we were picky with where we looked . Then we found Kim. From the beginning she was very kind and honest about everything. We reserved a puppy which turned out to have a birth defect. Kim tried everything she could to save this puppy. From hourly bottle feeding; to incubator time, Kim spent 6 sleepless weeks caring for this puppy and showed her true colors as a caring and loving dog breeder. Sadly the puppy did pass, but Kim being an honorable person offered us a new healthy puppy at the same cost. We were in communication over 3 months. She would send us weekly pictures of the progress of our puppy. When the time finally came to pick up our Mushu, we were pleased to see a very nice environment for the program she is running. We recommend Kim to anyone looking for a shih tzu. She is an obvious dog lover who cares about preserving the breed. Thank you Kim! My daughter couldnt be happier
