I'm Barbara D., the breeder behind Shining Star Yorkies located in Memphis, TN. All of our puppies are bred, raised, and loved indoors to produce happy, healthy pets for those seeking the best family companion! Our dogs are our companions in every adventure! We decided to start breeding as a way to help other families experience the love and companionship of a dog.

Why did you start breeding?
My mentor is an AKC Judge who has over 60 Champions she had taught me so much about this bred..What makes your program special?
Because my dogs are loved like family an I have my mentors bloodline.. I have earned a wonderful reputation..What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies are blue and gold. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Trudy
Trudy is a female Yorkshire Terrier. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Barbara decided to make her part of their program. Barbara has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
