I'm Julia F., the breeder behind Shirehill Shelties located in Windsor, CO. As breeders, we are stewards of the future of our breed, so we are careful to always maintain ethical breeding practices. Why did you start breeding?
As a little girl I love Lassie, but my dad didn't want me to get a Collie so we settle on a sable Sheltie named Cassie. I showed Cassie in 4-H and had a blast! That's how my love for the breeding and showing started. It's been years and years of breeding better and better dogs and become a more knowledgeable breeder.What makes your program special?
We are a very small breeding operation. All of our dogs are house dogs and our puppies are raised in the house. We spend a lot of time socializing our puppies and helping prepare them for their new families. We do all our health testing on our breeding stock and breed dogs that we feel are good representatives of the breed standard.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

"The price includes a 2-year health guarantee, first vaccinations, deworming, socialization and lifetime support to you as a puppy buyer from your breeder. Deposits are refundable if we do not have a puppy available to you, the pregnancy fails, we don't have the color or gender etc. Deposits are non-refundable if you just change your mind."

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
