I'm Vicki P., the breeder behind ShorDu located in Athol, ID. Our goal is to produce Aussies that meet the breed standard and have the versatility to do it all, as the breed was meant to do.

Why did you start breeding?
My first amazing all around Aussie lived until the unheard of age of 19 and I was hooked. After I got my second dog and began showing in many areas and having full health testing done, I agreed to breed him, and began getting more and more serious. We rarely have a litter, usually only if we are wanting to keep one back ourselves. Only 11 litters since 1995 . But always try to fit the standard and find the right home for each individual.What makes your program special?
Our dogs are fully health tested, OFA hips, elbows. Eyes and DNA health cleared, as well as registered. All of our adults are trained invarious areas, and competed with. We guarantee our babies and have a contract that includes taking every one back if the need should arise Temperament is very important as well, and all puppies are evaluated and started on training before they leave our home.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, red merle, blue merle, and red. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Vicki
Vicki has been certified by Good Dog's screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you're ready to reach out, feel free to ask any questions about the breed, their program, or specific puppies.
Vicki partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 7 weeks old.
"We match puppies by structure and temperament for each home, and the goals within the home. If you are looking for a conformation or performance dog, we will match those homes first, and then the puppies that are better suited for companions will be matched to the homes looking for that temperament. I will not entertain placing by coat or eye color."
Price
"Price varies upon pet ( spay/neuter requirement) or show contract with co ownership. Deposits are non refundable and guarantee a puppy from this litter or a future litter if no one meets your families needs this time around. Puppies will not be placed by color, instead we choose by structure and temperament to fit your individual needs. Temperament testing is done at 7 weeks of age."

Program update on 19 Feb 2025 •…Health and temperament tests are done. Favor has been selected to be shown in Rally and Conformation shows. I have 3 other show homes and a therapy dog home coming out this week to make selections. So maybe only one or 2 of these beautiful babies look8ng for their forever. I also have 2 nice adults ( 2 years old) available.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

Zoya’s been with us now for 4 weeks (she is 13 weeks old). She is an amazing addition to our family. She had her first puppy class today and was so gentle with the really small dogs. Playful, smart and listens well for her age. I am so glad we got her from ShorDu. Vicki met us halfway (we are on the coast and they’re in western Idaho), is a very responsible breeder who cares about the pups.
