I'm Tracy R., the breeder behind Shoreline Retrievers located in Petersburg, WV. We provide families with healthy happy pets. As a small, family breeder, Shoreline Retrievers raises every litter in our family home where each puppy receives love and attention everyday. All of our Labs are genetic and OFA tested to insure the best qualities in your new family member.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    We started we our family pet and a true love for the breed which branched into the full program that we have today.

  • What makes your program special?

    We are super hands on and talk to our customers every step of the way we send weekly or more pictures and videos along with keeping them up today on the pups progress such as weaning, eating regular food, vaccinations, worming's, nail trims and current weights. We are completely transparent in our whelping that way customers get to feel like they are in the process with us.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Tracy

Tracy has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

Tracy partners with buyers to find the best match as the puppies develop and their personalities take shape. Typically, matches are finalized when the puppies reach about 8 weeks old.

“Pups will be picked in the order deposits were received and will be made in person when the pups are ready to go home. This lets you interact and pick a pup of your choosing instead of just a picture. This way we can also see you and know each puppies temperament and match a lasting match”

Price

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $900 - $1,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Price includes Health Care Guarantee, Health check certificate, first vaccination, proper wormings and nail trims, microchipping, AKC registration, and a take home tote filled with essentials. We ask for a nonrefundable $300 to cover the cost of raising the puppy til ready to go. If for any reason something should happen and we would not have a puppy for the client it is then refunded.”

Tracy may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Exercise Induced Collapse (EIC), Centronuclear Myopathy (CNM), D Locus (Dilute) DNA test

    Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).

    Tracy was fantastic to work with! She answered all of our questions and shared photos and videos of the puppies leading up to pickup day, which made the wait even more exciting.
