Meet the breeder

I'm Sahalie P., the breeder behind Short Legs & Curly Wags LLC located in Clayton, WA. We breed pure bred Standard Poodles and pure bred Cardigan Welsh Corgis. From thorough health testing of the parents, to desensitization from birth on, to potty training and exposure to the big wide world, our puppies go to their forever home with a head start on life.

Q. & A. with Sahalie

  • Why did you start breeding?

In 2022 I was introduced to my mentor, Veronica Porter, owner and operator of Doodle Paw Ranch. I had always known that I wanted my career to have something to do with animals as that's where my passions have always been. After meeting with Veronica and seeing her dogs, her business setup and the joy surrounding a life filled with puppies, I decided THAT was what I wanted to do.
  • What makes your program special?

We offer a 1-year guarantee for all our puppies. We extend this guarantee to 3 years for any adopting family that commits to feeding their new family member the premium food we started them on. Because we do thorough OFA and genetic health testing of our parent dogs, and we trust the nutritional quality of Life’s Abundance food, we feel confident about offering these guarantees.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our Poodle puppies are standard size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our Poodle puppies are black. Cardigan Welsh Corgi puppies are blue merle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sahalie

Sahalie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sahalie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“We care a lot about our puppies and buyers being right for each other. After a buyer is approved via Good Dog's puppy application, we can then move onto matching buyers with puppies of desired temperaments. It should be noted that though some temperaments can be distinguishable at 8 weeks, this early on most of a puppies' temperament is still easily moldable. Their temperaments will be best formed by continued socialization and training by their new owners in those first several months of living with their forever family.”
