Meet the breeder

I'm Sheri S., the breeder behind Shurbeez Shih Tzu located in Moses Lake, WA. I strive to breed the most correct, beautiful, healthy, well-tempered Shih Tzu. I breed only top-quality dogs and genetic test all sires & dams. Pups have regular de-worming, vaccinations, vet checks, a good start on potty training, grooming exposure, beginning clicker training, and so much more.

Q. & A. with Sheri

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with the Shih Tzu breed while working for a vet before I had children. They are beautiful companion dogs and I love their personalities. I learned a lot from the vets I worked for and knew that I wanted to breed to provide the best dogs possible. I spend countless hours studying everything, to make sure I am always using best practices for breeding, whelping, and rearing puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

I begin with genetically healthy dogs who are excellent representatives of the breed. I raise my litters in my home with Puppy Culture, extensive puppy curriculum, tender loving care, great nutrition, mental and physical stimulation, expert socialization and much more. It is my goal to start my puppies off with the care they need to enable them to be the adaptable companions they were designed to be.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, liver, gold, red, silver gold and white, black gold and silver, white, liver and white, red and white, gold and white, brindle and white, black gold and white, black and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

Adopting my baby boy Pistol was truly a dream come true. Sheri also was an angel to work with! To this day, she responds to my texts quickly and efficiently, giving me advice with my boy when needed. Pistol also has the best temperament I’ve ever seen in a dog! He loves to cuddle, go on walks with me, and just sit beside me as a loving companion while I study for med school. He is so well behaved and smart, thanks to Sheri! He is absolutely non reactive to other dogs growling or barking at him, and instead, he is friendly to everyone and everything around him! He even wakes me up when it’s time to go potty even though he’s only 4 months. He is truly the light of my life and I’m so glad to be a dog momma and have gotten paired with my perfect match, all thanks to Sheri! We love shurbeez shih tzus over here :) He is so well behaved that he sits patiently with me at the library, nail salon, and even restaurants! I love having my best friend able to peacefully come everywhere with me.

Working with Sheri was amazing. From the start we felt like we were part of our puppies life even before we took her home. The regular communication and videos allowed us to feel connected and bonded to our little girl. Once we brought her home it was a seamless transition and it felt like Kaia had been with us all along. As soon as she walked in our house she adapted immediately as she was very happy and cuddly from the start. We have been so impressed with her intelligence and trainability. We have continued to be in contact with Sheri as questions arise and she has been very prompt and responsive to any questions we may have had. It is evident that Sheri loves her puppies and cares deeply that they will have happy and healthy lives. We would definitely recommend Sheri if you are interested in getting a happy, healthy and intelligent Shih Tzu.

Working with Sheri was fantastic. She is incredibly knowledgeable, and very clearly loves her dogs which is so important. She kept me up to date with Briscoe’s status and sent regular photos so I could see how he was doing before he came home. He is so incredibly sweet and loves to play, he was well socialized, and even fairly potty trained by the time I picked him up. He is a complete joy and I’m thrilled he’s part of the family!

Sheri has been amazing. She is so easy to communicate with during the puppy process. She supplied so much valuable info for me from her preferred items on Amazon to her videos to help with the adoption process and transition process from breeder’s home to my home. She was great with sending updates and photos while we waited for our go home day. Ozzy has been a great addition to our pack and thanks to her early training he is doing so well with us in his new home. I would highly recommend her to anyone looking to get a Shih Tzu pup.

I was lucky enough to adopt Bailee, one of Sheri’s retired females. She is so full of love, lots and lots of kisses, and energy…she’s definitely a happy, wild and crazy girl. Bailee was so well behaved when I got her thanks to all the time and energy Sheri puts into her babies. She has learned many new things since she came into our lives and has become a very brave girl during our daily walks. While she still has not won over her big brother, Rajee, I am hopeful he will come to love her as much as I do. Sheri went out of her way to help me adopt this little bundle of joy. You see it was the middle of January when Bailee was ready to come to me, but because it was the middle of winter and I could not drive over the mountain passes to meet her for pickup, Sheri allowed Bailee to continue staying with her until it was safe for me to drive over to get her. It was hard to wait that extra time, but Sheri was great at sending me weekly updates and pictures of my sweet little girl. It’s obvious that Sheri loves what she does and is willing to go that extra step to ensure her babies go to a loving home. I would recommend Sheri to anyone looking for a healthy, well-trained and loving dog or puppy.
