Meet the breeder

I'm Sheri S., the breeder behind Shurbeez Shih Tzu located in Moses Lake, WA. I strive to breed the most correct, beautiful, healthy, well-tempered Shih Tzu. Q. & A. with Sheri

  • Why did you start breeding?

I fell in love with the Shih Tzu breed while working for a vet before I had children. They are beautiful companion dogs and I love their personalities. I learned a lot from the vets I worked for and knew that I wanted to breed to provide the best dogs possible. I spend countless hours studying everything, to make sure I am always using best practices for breeding, whelping, and rearing puppies.
  • What makes your program special?

I begin with genetically healthy dogs who are excellent representatives of the breed. I raise my litters in my home with Puppy Culture, extensive puppy curriculum, tender loving care, great nutrition, mental and physical stimulation, expert socialization and much more. It is my goal to start my puppies off with the care they need to enable them to be the adaptable companions they were designed to be.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include black, liver, gold, red, silver gold and white, black gold and silver, white, liver and white, red and white, gold and white, brindle and white, black gold and white, black and white, and brindle. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

They live in my home and guardian homes.

I was lucky enough to adopt Bailee, one of Sheri’s retired females. She is so full of love, lots and lots of kisses, and energy…she’s definitely a happy, wild and crazy girl. Bailee was so well behaved when I got her thanks to all the time and energy Sheri puts into her babies. She has learned many new things since she came into our lives and has become a very brave girl during our daily walks. While she still has not won over her big brother, Rajee, I am hopeful he will come to love her as much as I do. Sheri went out of her way to help me adopt this little bundle of joy. You see it was the middle of January when Bailee was ready to come to me, but because it was the middle of winter and I could not drive over the mountain passes to meet her for pickup, Sheri allowed Bailee to continue staying with her until it was safe for me to drive over to get her. It was hard to wait that extra time, but Sheri was great at sending me weekly updates and pictures of my sweet little girl. It’s obvious that Sheri loves what she does and is willing to go that extra step to ensure her babies go to a loving home. I would recommend Sheri to anyone looking for a healthy, well-trained and loving dog or puppy.

I was really nervous to get my first puppy, but Sheri made the experience so simple and seamless. Since before Pippa was born, Sheri has been a resource in everything Shih Tzu and puppy-related and was available to answer any of my questions promptly. Once my Pippa was born, Sheri provided pictures several times a week and made sure to keep me updated on her growth and milestones. Pippa came home at 9 weeks, already partially trained, and so smart! The prep that Sheri did at home introducing Pippa early on to different experiences, sounds, and smells has been invaluable. In the two weeks since Pippa has come home, Sheri has already been SO helpful and quick to respond to any questions. It is very clear that Sheri truly cares about the health and wellbeing of all of her pups. All of my family and friends have been extremely impressed about all of the resources provided by Shurbeez, including the frequent updates, puppy go-home bag, pre-go home day videos, and more. If you’re looking for a trustworthy, knowledgeable, and reputable breeder, look no further than Shurbeez Shih Tzus. Little Pippa is my new best friend and I could not be more thankful to have found Sheri!

Sheri of Shurbeez Shih Tzu was wonderful to work with. We placed our names on the waiting list for a Shurbeez Shih Tzu puppy because of their well-earned reputation for helping their puppies be their best selves. Our Reilly had such a wonderful beginning with Sheri! She desensitizes them to sounds, socializes them and prepares them for grooming with her 12 touch program. Reilly had no fear of getting into his carrier for the ride home because he had already experienced that multiple times with them. Reilly had a head start on potty training with them and is carrying on with that quite nicely. Shurbeez's mission and practices ensure that you not only have a healthy puppy, but one that will blend right into your family. I appreciate how Sheri encourages interaction with prospective pet guardians. She wants us to be successful too. I know if we have questions or concerns that Sheri is available and encourages that contact. Now it's up to us to continue the great work that Sheri and Shurbeez have invested in our pup. I rave to all of my friends about Shurbeez Shih Tzu. I encourage them to check out their website and when they're ready to get on the waiting list.

For first time dog owners Sheri is top notch. We are from California and could have easily chose a local breeder. What Shurbeez offers set them apart from the rest. From beginning to current day she has been supportive and extremely helpful. She doesn't just cut contact after puppies go home, we appreciate that. Shurbeez website is informative and we love that she covers A to Z's. We got Walter & Windy from Sheri in Nov 2023. They are exactly as she prepared us for. They healthy, happy and loving. We originally only planned for one but could not imagine our household without both.

Sheri at Shurbeez has been a joy to work with and I’m so lucky to have her here locally. Royce (my pup) has been a dream and though all puppies are still puppies and get into mischief I have a feeling that his disposition is due largely in part to his time with his breeder. Sheri has made herself available as an ongoing resource and I’m so happy to have this new addition in my life with the continued support of a knowledgeable and personable individual. Thanks, Shurbeez!
