English Springer Spaniel
About Aphia
Aphia is the queen around here. She has had health testing and is CLEAR for PFK/PRA/DM and more. She stays busy in the yard flushing birds that hang around our landscaping. She is kind, and she always "checks in" by nuzzling the back of my leg. She is the ultimate velcro dog.

About Rocko
Rocko is an easy going, energetic, snuggly dad. He enjoys chasing butterflies and playing with anything that moves. He carries a ball almost everywhere in hopes someone will toss it for him. He has champion bloodlines and brings us great joy.
English Springer Spaniel
About Rocko
Rocko is an easy going, yet energetic Spaniel. His parents have had all the recommended health testing, and is clear. He is PRA/PFK/DM CLEAR. He is from Show/Working lines, Bench and Field. He loves to patrol our property, and above all, fetch anything that I toss. He loves everyone, and above all, children. He's kind to our other animals, and just enjoys being with his humans.

Sidel's Springers reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for English Springer Spaniels.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Cone-Rod Dystrophy 4 (PRA-crd4)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
