  • Why did you start breeding?

    I was introduced to breeding through my father, who was an excellent breeder and lifelong student of animal husbandry. From a very young age, he involved me in the daily care of our animals and taught me the importance of thoughtful selection and hands-on care. This early foundation naturally led me to begin my own small breeding program, starting with Beagles in 2006 with the same values.

  • What makes your program special?

    Silver Sage Dachshunds is a small breeding program focused on quality over quantity. Our dogs are raised as family members with daily hands-on care, early socialization, and a strong emphasis on health and temperament. We believe thoughtful breeding and lifelong support are what truly set a program apart.

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include longhaired and smooth coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include chocolate and tan, black and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,150 - $2,750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Patellar Luxation

    Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

    A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
