Meet the breeder

I'm Silverside Aussies LLC (Lynn), the breeder behind Silverside Aussies LLC located in South Hill, VA. Purposefully raising Aussies for health, temperament, & versatility at Silverside Aussies, where lifetime support is standard. CHIC/OFA/DNA/AKC titled parents. You can't buy happiness, but you can get an Aussie & that's pretty much the same thing! Hi and welcome to Silverside Aussies! We're so glad you found us. 🐾 We're a small family-based program dedicated to preserving and improving the Australian Shepherd through thoughtful, ethical breeding practices. Our focus is on producing healthy, structurally sound, intelligent, and versatile Aussies with stable temperaments that can thrive as both active companions and beloved family members. Every breeding dog in our program undergoes extensive health testing, including genetic screening and OFA evaluations, because we believe health and temperament should always come before color or trends. We are committed to raising each generation to be better than the last, with an emphasis on sound genetics, temperament, structure, and overall quality. Transparency is incredibly important to us, and we're always happy to answer questions. We want every family to fully understand our program and feel confident throughout the process. We also provide lifetime breeder support, so when you bring home a Silverside puppy, you're becoming part of our extended family. 💌 We maintain a single waitlist for all upcoming litters. Families join the waitlist and remain there until they're ready to move forward with a puppy. Final puppy selection takes place at approximately 6–7 weeks of age after each puppy has completed temperament evaluations, a veterinary wellness exam, and an OFA CAER eye examination performed by a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist. This allows families to make informed decisions based on each puppy's developing temperament, structure, and overall suitability rather than appearance alone. Any puppies that remain available after waitlist families have made their selections are then offered to the public. 🩵$500 REFUNDABLE FEE TO JOIN THE WAITLIST FOR CURRENT & PLANNED LITTERS🩵 RESERVATION FEE becomes non-refundable once you reserve your choice of puppy & is deducted from their purchase price. silversideaussies. com/waitlist (remove the space in ". com") ❤️RED/BLACK TRI: $2,000 (includes Good Dog referral fees)🖤 💙BLUE/RED MERLE: $2,500 (includes Good Dog referral fees)🩷 I'd love to learn more about what you're looking for in your future Aussie. Do you have any questions about our program, or would you like to tell me a little about yourself and the type of puppy you're hoping to bring home?

Q. & A. with Silverside Aussies LLC (Lynn)

  • Why did you start breeding?

We’re so happy you found us! I'm Lynn, and Silverside Aussies is our small, family-centered breeding program dedicated to raising exceptional AKC Standard Australian Shepherds with versatile temperaments, sound structure, balanced proportions, effortless movement, comprehensive health testing, and thoughtfully planned pedigrees. Our mission is simple: **to raise healthy, confident Australian Shepherds while providing exceptional care, education, and lifelong support to every puppy and family we serve.** Our journey began in 2009 with our very first Aussie, and what started as a love for everything Australian Shepherd quickly became a lifelong passion. After years of researching genetics, health, structure, temperament, and responsible breeding practices, we established Silverside Aussies with one goal in mind—to produce Australian Shepherds that are as healthy and well-rounded as they are beautiful. Every breeding decision we make is guided by three core principles: **health, temperament, and structure.** Our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health testing, including OFA evaluations and genetic screening, because we believe every puppy deserves the very best start in life. Our dogs are first and foremost members of our family. They share our home, our routines, and our adventures—they are never raised in kennels. Every puppy is born and raised in our home, where they receive countless hours of daily handling, enrichment, socialization, and age-appropriate training to help them grow into confident, adaptable companions. And yes… they're a little spoiled! While they certainly enjoy plenty of treats, what they really receive is an environment filled with mental stimulation, physical activity, enrichment, and lots of love. Whether they're exploring new experiences, playing with the pack, or joining us on outdoor adventures, we believe a fulfilled Australian Shepherd is a happy Australian Shepherd. (The only thing we're still working on is adding sheep to the curriculum! 😉) When you choose a Silverside Aussie, you're not just bringing home a puppy—you're joining a community. We believe our responsibility doesn't end when your puppy goes home, which is why we're always here to answer questions, offer guidance, and provide lifetime breeder support. 🩵 We'd love to get to know you and answer any questions you have about our program. Please don't hesitate to reach out—we're always happy to talk Aussies! 🩵
  • What makes your program special?

Healthy Parents. Healthy Puppies. A Program Built on Prevention. At Silverside Aussies, we believe the best way to produce healthy puppies is to begin with healthy parents. Every breeding decision starts with health, temperament, and structure because we believe responsible breeding is about preventing problems—not simply reacting to them. That's why we proudly stand behind our puppies with an **industry-leading 2-Year Wellness Warranty**, outlined in our Puppy Contract, covering qualifying life-threatening congenital conditions. We encourage every prospective family to read our contract and ask questions—we believe transparency builds trust. One thing you'll quickly notice about our program is that we don't just tell you our dogs are health tested—we **show you**. We provide access to our dogs' health testing results so you can verify them yourself. We believe educated buyers make the best puppy owners, and we're always happy to explain what the results mean and why they matter. ### Our Health Testing Philosophy Our breeding dogs undergo comprehensive health evaluations before they are considered for our breeding program. This includes: * OFA evaluations appropriate for the breed * Comprehensive DNA screening covering more than **270 genetic health conditions**, breed verification, and inherited traits * Multiple laboratory testing when appropriate for additional confidence * Ongoing veterinary care and annual wellness examinations Health testing alone doesn't determine whether a dog should be bred. We first look for the qualities that make exceptional Australian Shepherds: stable temperaments, sound structure, correct movement, and wonderful personalities. Health testing then helps us make informed breeding decisions that support the long-term well-being of future generations. ### Choosing a Responsible Breeder Whether you choose Silverside Aussies or another breeder, we encourage you to do your research. A responsible breeder should willingly provide documentation of health testing, explain the purpose of those tests, and be transparent about both the strengths and limitations of their breeding program. Puppies should receive appropriate veterinary care before going home, and breeders should remain available as a resource throughout the dog's life. An informed buyer helps protect both themselves and the future of the breed. Our goal isn't simply to send home a puppy—it's to give every family the confidence that they're bringing home a healthy, thoughtfully raised companion backed by a breeder who will always be there when needed. Even if Silverside Aussies isn't your choice, responsible buying is crucial! ONLY BUY PUPPIES FROM TRUSTED BREEDERS WITH HEALTH TESTED DOGS & VET CHECKED PUPPIES! Your breeder should be able to READILY & EASILY provide proof of health testing (which you should be able to verify the results to from the tester directly, like the links we provide) & Buyer's reviews, even Vet references & preferably with dog who have annual Vet exams (as required by law too!) & puppies who have been vaccinated by a licensed Vet for vaccine quality assurance, which provides the puppies with Maternally-Derived Antibodies (MDAs) for disease resistance even before being vaccinated. 💙❤️~EVERY COLOR/LITTER🤎🖤 ✅ 100% AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD 🐾 STANDARD,~45-60lbs, ~18-22in 🐕 NATURAL TAILS! long & bobbed 👓 BLUE EYES very likely (99%+) 🎫 AKC & ASDR Limited Registration ⭐ AKC Bred with H.E.A.R.T. 🎖️ ALL PARENTS ARE AKC TITLED: TRICK DOG Novice or Intermediate VIRTUAL HOME MANNERS 🤑 AKC Title Reimbursement 🥇 CHAMPION LINEAGE for most 🛡️ PARENTS= CHIC, OFA, + DNA TESTED 🩻 OFAs: Normal-Excellent Hips, Elbows, Eyes, Dentition, Patella Luxation, +... 🧬 DNA/TRAIT Test x2 (Embark + AKC) ⚕️ YEARLY & PROACTIVE VET CARE 🥈 2 YEAR WELLNESS WARRANTY!! 💸 PRESCRIPTION REIMBURSEMENT 🆓 PET INSURANCE X2 (+30 Days FREE) ♾️ BREEDER'S LIFETIME SUPPORT 🩺 WELLNESS EXAM by Vet x2 👁️ OFA AVCO EYE EXAM for each pup! 💉 Up-to-date VACCINES (1st by Vet) 🔍 MICROCHIP by Vet, $0 Lifetime Reg 💊 DEWORMER Prescription, biweekly 🦴 HIGH-QUALITY FOOD & Supplements 📈 WEIGHT TRACKING +early monitoring 🫀 Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) for +Cardio, +Coping, +... 🧠 Early Scent Introduction (ESI) for +Cognitive, +Confidence, +.. 🏡 RAISED IN HOME, outside playtime 📸 WEEKLY Photos, Videos, & Pupdates 🧼 GROOM WEEKLY, bath/nails/blow dry 🐕‍🦺 INTRO to collar/leash/crate/car 🎉 FOCUS on Socializing, Desensitizing 📋 BAXTER & BELLA for US & YOU 💌 WAITLIST for upcoming litters

When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

“❤️RED/BLACK TRIS ARE $2000 including GoodDog Referral Fees🖤 💙BLUE/RED MERLES ARE $2500 including GoodDog Referral Fees🩷 F## 🐶 Available Puppies To view our current availability and upcoming litters, please visit silversideaussies. com/available We update our website as quickly as possible whenever a puppy is reserved, but availability can change at any time. If you're interested in a specific puppy, we encourage you to reach out as soon as possible. Not sure which puppy is right for you? I'd love to help! One of my favorite parts of raising our puppies is watching their personalities develop. Because we spend so much time with each puppy every day, I get to know them incredibly well. If you've fallen in love with a particular style of Aussie—or even have photos of puppies you admire from another breeder—send them my way! I can often recommend which of our current or upcoming puppies may be the best match for what you're looking for. ### Reserving an Available Puppy Puppies remain available until a reservation has been completed and payment has been received. We do not place puppies on hold without a reservation. If you've found "the one," please be prepared to move forward with your reservation after your application has been approved. --- # 💌 Our Waitlist Families who are planning ahead are welcome to join our waitlist by visiting: silversideaussies. com/waitlist A **$500 refundable reservation fee** secures your position on the waitlist and is applied toward the purchase price of your future puppy. Waitlist positions are assigned strictly in the order reservation fees are received. Our goal is to give every family the flexibility to wait for the puppy that's truly right for them—not simply the first one available. Two Types of Waitlist Members: 😍 SEEKERS. Seekers are actively looking to bring home a puppy, generally within the next several months. As a Seeker, you'll receive updates throughout each pregnancy and litter, along with invitations to participate in our **Pick or Pass** process for every litter until you've selected your puppy. 🤔 DREAMERS: Dreamers know they'd like a Silverside Aussie someday but aren't quite ready yet. Dreamers continue moving up the waitlist while automatically passing on each litter until they're ready to become a Seeker. Simply let us know before you're ready to begin participating so we can activate your account. --- # 🐾 Pregnancy & Litter Updates: One of our favorite parts of the process is keeping our waitlist families involved every step of the way. As pregnancies are confirmed and puppies are born, we'll share updates, photos, videos, and developmental milestones. Families also receive access to puppy profiles, medical updates, and weekly progress as the litter grows. --- # ❤️ Pick or Pass (Around 2 Weeks) When puppies are approximately **two weeks old**, each Seeker will receive a **Pick or Pass Survey**. This survey lets us know your intentions for that litter. You may: 🐶 PICK— You're interested in receiving a puppy from this litter and will rank the puppies or preferences you would happily accept. ❌ PASS— This litter or timing isn't the right fit, and you'd like to remain on the waitlist for a future litter. Submitting a "PICK" does NOT reserve a specific puppy. It simply lets us know you'd like to be considered once the puppies have completed their evaluations. --- # 🩺 Final Puppy Selection (6–7 Weeks) We intentionally wait until puppies are approximately **6–7 weeks of age** before final selections begin. By this time, every puppy has completed: * Comprehensive veterinary wellness examination * OFA Eye Certification examination performed by a board-certified ACVO veterinary ophthalmologist * Temperament evaluations * Ongoing developmental assessments Waiting allows us to make the best possible match between each puppy and their future family based on health, temperament, structure, and your preferences—not simply appearance. Selections are then made **strictly in waitlist order** based on each family's reservation date. Families are contacted one at a time. If your first-choice puppy is available, wonderful! If not, you'll have the opportunity to choose from the remaining puppies you've indicated would be a good fit, or you may decide to pass and remain on the waitlist. Once your puppy has been selected, we'll finalize your reservation, complete the purchase contract, and begin preparing for your puppy's Gotcha Day! Our goal has always been simple: to make the very best lifelong match between every puppy and every family.”

I can't thank them enough, my girl (Gilly) is simply wonderful! Silverside was an awesome experience even after the sale. They made a tough decision pretty easy and still provide support weeks later. Thank you for one Aussie, extra awesome

Artemis is my first puppy and I am so glad that I chose to get her through Silverside Aussies! From all the helpful information on their website to the advice Silverside gave me on Gotcha Day, Silverside really helped me through every step of the way. They were also so accommodating, even rescheduling pickup time on Gotcha Day when other commitments I had going on that day ended early. Artemis is such a gorgeous and gregarious girl, she is such a wonderful addition to my family and I am so enthused for the years to come!

This was my first time using Good Dog as well as working directly with a breeder. My experience was positive all the way around. The only thing I didn't quit like were the extra fees Good Dog charges and if you decide to skip any of their policies/steps, "they can't help you". So please read other reviews and and make sure you have extra funds to cover your investment. Now Lynn was amazing!! Answered my questions and concerns, super friendly during Gotcha Day. The only thing I didn't like about Silverside was that I wasn't able to meet the puppies before making a deposit or anytime after. It's like you pick one and that's what you get. Before you crucify me, I understand the breeder has a right to protect their animals, families, and whatever else. It just made it a little harder on me, because the nugget I choose is a little bananas. Definitely not a calm one. Lol! It's been almost a month; we're finally figuring out our pecking order. Overall I'm happy and would do it again.

I’m a first time puppy owner and came across Silverside Aussies online just simply searching for breeders close to where I live. Their website is very user friendly, organized, easy to navigate, and is always updated with new info about the puppies. When I placed my deposit and reserved my pup, the whole process went so smoothly! I would get weekly pup dates and pictures of my girl, Marigold, through google photos which definitely settled all of the anticipation I was having with waiting months to meet her. It felt like I already knew her with how frequently I would get updated pics and videos of her playing. If I had any questions or concerns, I could message the breeder via Google photos or text the breeder and receive a reply almost instantly, if not within 24hrs. She was always very prompt with responses and was genuinely so wonderful to work with. Silverside Aussies is definitely a trusted breeder. They were very transparent with everything. She gifted me the best thing I could ever ask for, and you can genuinely see how much she cares not only for her pups but for her customers too. My partner and I definitely plan on adopting another Aussie from Silver Side Aussies in the future.
