I'm Sara L., the breeder behind S&J Spaniels located in Draper, VA. We raise our beautiful, loving Cocker Spaniels on our small homestead. Our dogs are cherished family pets, living happy, lives filled with love, adventure, and playdays. We are committed to the health and happiness of both our parent dogs and every puppy we raise. Each puppy is nurtured and socialized from the beginning, helping them grow into loving companions.

    We wanted to provide an ethical breeding program focused on the health, happiness and quality of life of this beautiful breed we love.

  • What makes your program special?

    We carefully seek loving homes where our puppies will be treasured as members of the family, just as they are here with us. Our Cocker Spaniels have brought so much joy to our lives, and we hope to do the same for yours.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include sable, black white and tan, buff and white, and brown. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Sara

Sara has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sara partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Price

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $1,450 - $1,600 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“CKC registration, first round of vaccinations, deworming, puppy socialization, beginning potty training. $250.”

Contract & health guarantee

Sara may provide a written contract or health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you both have a clear understanding of the terms of your puppy purchase.   • Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered)

    Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.

  • Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)

    Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
