Meet the breeder

I'm Sarah T., the breeder behind SJs Dachshunds located in Woodland, WA. Our dogs are bred for health and temperament, not for color. Although I do get some wonderful colors and patterns. These dogs are my family first and are very loved! Parents are Embark health tested assuring our puppies are set up for success! Let's see if we have the perfect Dachshund to add to your family!

Q. & A. with Sarah

  • Why did you start breeding?

I got my first Standard smooth coat Red dachshund when I was 9 years old. My mother bred short-haired dachshunds as I was growing up and as an adult I decided I wanted to start my own program, but with longhaired dachshunds.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies include miniature and standard sizes. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

Our puppies have longhaired coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include cream, red, black, brindle, chocolate and cream, black and cream, black and tan, chocolate and tan, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Sarah was so wonderful to work with! She was incredibly communicative and always sent updates and pictures leading up to pickup. The reservation process was very clear, and she was great at answering my endless list of questions regarding the contract and giving me general tips and tricks for bringing home a dachshund puppy. This is our first dog and first time using GoodDog, so we were a bit nervous about traveling to pick up a puppy (from CA to WA), but Sarah was amazing - we felt complete trust in her throughout the entire process. Oliver is the light of our life, and we're so grateful to Sarah for bringing this sweet boy into our lives!!!

SJ Dachshunds was very communicative throughout the whole process. She regularly sent photos and updates leading up to “gotcha” day. She always had the pup’s best interest at heart and worked with us with any questions or logistics. Really enjoyed working with SJ Dachshunds and they made the process comfortable and clear.
