I'm Julie R., the breeder behind Skoshie’s Shelties located in Indianapolis, IN. For over 20 years, Shelties have been our heart. After losing our beloved merle boy to improper breeding, we made a promise to do better. In his memory, we raise healthy, well‑bred Shelties with love, integrity, and a deep commitment to every life we bring into this world.

Why did you start breeding?
I’ve loved Shelties for 20+ years, beginning with rescue. After losing a beloved merle to improper breeding, I committed to ethical practices. I am hands‑on daily and work under the guidance of Dr. Katie Hornberger to ensure responsible breeding, health testing, and properly raised puppies.What makes your program special?
My program was built from loss, after experiencing the impact of improper breeding. I am deeply hands-on, raising each puppy in my home with intentional socialization. With veterinary guidance, I focus on health, temperament, and ethical breeding to produce well-rounded, lifelong companions.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our Shetland Sheepdog puppies include sable merle and white and sable and white. Toy Shetland Sheepdog puppies include blue merle, sable & white, and sable. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

Julie has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Julie partners with them to find the best puppy match.

About Wheatley
Wheatley is a little princess and her human momma's baby girl, she took to being the perfect puppy momma any puppy could ask for. She is quiet and delicate when she wants to be but has full control of her pack brothers being the only girl in the house with 4 brothers she keeps them all under control. She's the fastest out the doggie door to check out the latest bird that had the lack of good sense to land on her deck (no birdies have ever fallen prey to her quick movements) she is a sweetheart and loves her morning stops at Starbucks on the way to the office where she is the main attraction with staff and clients in our accounting firm.

About Oakley
Oakley is a love-bug, he loves his humans and wants attention and play time. Intelligent and active, first one to run out the doggie door at the boom of thunder but hates to hear the slightest hissing sound. He's comical and sweet and loves sleeping on his back with all four paws in the air.

Hip Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia (rDVM, not registered), Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Examination (rDVM, not registered with OFA), Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (rDVM, not registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, von Willebrand Disease III (vWD III), Dermatomyositis, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Collie Eye Anomaly (CEA)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
