I'm Briley K., the breeder behind Skyborne Australian Shepherds located in Woodford, VA. We focus on show and performance puppies with great temperaments and a natural off-switch. Our dogs are registered with Australian Shepherd Club of American and/or the American Kennel Club and they are health tested before any breeding takes place.

Why did you start breeding?
I began breeding in 2007 with a goal in mind - I wanted to produce a versatile dog that was both a partner and a companion. Tala taught me the importance of not just being an owner, but being a team. I wanted to produce likeminded dogs that would teach their owners the same lessons that Tala taught me.What makes your program special?
Australian Shepherds are known to be a versatile dog and a great family companion. I focus on producing a dog of sound mind and body, highly intelligent, athletic and biddable - one that can be competitive in the ring during the day to being a couch potato in the evening.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Getting a puppy from Briley

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $2,000 - $3,000 final payment, before taxes & fees.

About Zoom
Zoom is a sweet, affectionate girl who loves to spend her days lounging on the couch or in bed. If she isn’t underfoot, I will always know where to find her. She is an easy dog to live with and doesn’t require much to keep her both mentally and physically happy. She makes a wonderful active pet and hiking companion. When it comes to sports, her favorite thing is FCAT! She has excellent prey drive and enjoys chasing trash bunnies. When it comes to the conformation ring, she can easily be handed off to others to show. Many professionals, owner/breeders and handlers alike, will often comment stating that she is a stunning dog with sound movement. Her biggest obstacle in the ring are her blue eyes. I always joke, telling her she’s always the bridesmaid and never the bride.

About Halo
Halo is a very sweet girl with loads of personality. She loves to carry her toys around the house and always has something in her mouth! I love to tell her to 'Go get your baby' and she will run to the toy bin and select whichever toy suits her fancy at that time. She is very affectionate and gives the best cuddles. One of my favorite things about her is she has the biggest aussie grin.

Lyric is a female Australian Shepherd almost 5 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Briley decided to make her part of their program. Briley has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
