Meet the breeder

I'm Jessica W., the breeder behind Skye’s Waggin’ Aussies located in Murfreesboro, TN. We are a family-centered breeding program committed to producing healthy, even-tempered dogs with gentle, affectionate personalities. Our male and female come from champion bloodlines, and our puppies are home-raised with socialization, quality care, and love for lifelong companionship.

Q. & A. with Jessica

  • Why did you start breeding?

I became interested in breeding after purchasing my Mini Aussie in 2023 and meeting several knowledgeable breeders along the way. Their passion inspired me to learn as much as possible about responsible breeding, health, and temperament. Since then, I’ve spent the past years educating myself and carefully preparing to begin this journey the right way.
  • What makes your program special?

What makes our program special is our commitment to raising healthy, well-tempered puppies in a loving home environment. Our dogs come from champion bloodlines and are carefully bred with a focus on temperament, socialization, and lifelong companionship. Every pup is raised with care, quality, and heart.
  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

Our puppies include blue merle and black tri. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Breeder-Reported Testing

Excellent level

Skye’s Waggin’ Aussies reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Miniature Australian Shepherds.

  • Hip Dysplasia

Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

  • Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)

Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.

  • Vet Wellness Exam

A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.

  • DNA Disease Panel, PRA, Rod-Cone Degeneration (PRA-prcd), Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1), Hereditary (Juvenile) Cataracts (HC; JC)

Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
