I'm Deanna D., the breeder behind Small Time Ranch located in San Antonio, TX. We are from Texas and breed, raise and show Australian Shepherds. I am a member of AKC and ASCA. Our dogs are DNA tested, Genetic screening is done, and OFA’s are done. They are all well socialized and, of course beautiful! We encourage all prospective puppy owners to do their research and be prepared with questions to ask us. Make sure you are not only choosing the right breed for you, but also that you’re getting it from the right individual.

About Turbo
Turbo is an intelligent, loving, and happy Australian Shepherd with a playful spirit and an eagerness to please. He enjoys every adventure, whether it’s going for rides, taking walks, checking on the goats, showing in the ring, meeting new people, or soaking up belly rubs. Most of all, Turbo loves being with his family. Turbo has earned both his AKC and ASCA Championships, as well as his Farm Dog title. He is AKC and ASCA registered and has completed all recommended health clearances, including OFA-certified hips and elbows. With his sound structure, wonderful temperament, and versatile abilities, Turbo is a cherished member of our family and a proud representative of the breed.
Parent health testing

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
DNA Disease Panel, Multiple Drug Sensitivity (MDR1)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
