I'm Sammi M., the breeder behind SMartAuss Farm Australian Shepherds located in Riverbank, CA. We’re devoted to ensuring there are healthy puppies for others to enjoy and we do so by responsibly growing this incredible breed. We are dog lovers through and through! Our pups are such an important part of our lives, and we can’t imagine being without them. It’s an amazing experience as breeders to provide others with puppies that we know will bring them the same joy!

Why did you start breeding?
I became a breeder of Australian Shepherds because I was raised in a farming community where a strong connection to animals and hard work was a way of life. In 2002, I fell in love with the intelligence, loyalty, and energy of the Aussie breed and knew I wanted to dedicate myself to raising them. My passion has always been to breed well-tempered, well-bred Australian Shepherds—not just for working or showing, but as cherished companions. I wanted to share the same joy and unconditional love my own Aussies have brought into my life with others. It’s incredibly rewarding to know that the dogs I raise become beloved family members and bring happiness to their new homes.What makes your program special?
Each puppy is raised with love, care, and a commitment to health and socialization. I’m proud of the relationships I’ve built over the years, not just with puppy families, but also with my trusted veterinarian, professional trainer, and groomer—many of whom have worked with my dogs for years. References are always available upon request, whether you're a first-time Aussie owner or looking to grow your family again.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include red merle, blue merle, black tri-color, and red tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Sammi
Sammi has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Sammi partners with them to find the best puppy match.

“Price includes a health wellness check by a certified veterinarian, deworming, first initial vaccinations, genetic health testing of parents, and microchip. Deposit refunded only if puppy passes, is deemed unhealthy at time of health wellness check or buyer becomes unsuitable in providing a healthy home for puppy.”
