I'm Kimberly S., the breeder behind Smith's Australian Shepherds located in North Dakota. I am devoted to properly socialize them and follow Puppy Culture protocal, ENS and ESI. They will be started on crate training, potty training, and walk on a leash. The utmost care will be taken to introduce them any positive experiences we can offer so they are prepared for their forever homes.

About Harley
Harley just has the best temperament! She is ready when you are to go on adventures yet has a great off switch to just chill by your side. Her favorite place is with her family and is willing to do anything with us. From hiking trails to 4h Rally to Trick Training and Fast Cat, she is down to clown with a personality to boot. She is wary of strangers but once welcomed in she is very friendly, like in your lap friendly. She is great in all places from open trails and early morning walks to soccer fields and crowded expos, she is curious but very responsive to her family with an outstanding recall. Harley has been the best addition to our family and I couldn't imagine it any other way!
Great health testing
Great level
Smith's Australian Shepherds reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Thyroid (Autoimmune Thyroiditis, registered with OFA), Dentition
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
PawPrint Genetic Panel (Breed Specific)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
