I'm Lisa L., the breeder behind Snarky Doxy Miniature Dachshunds located in Hendersonville, NC. Snarky Doxy breeds for good health and temperament. We pair our dogs to create puppies that blend with your family. We work to get to know you and what your looking for. Our puppies are raised inside our home. They are raised around my dogs, family and friends.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    During the pandemic, I adopted two more dachshunds. After considering another puppy, I decided to have a litter of my own. As the first litter was being born, I looked up from the whelping box and said, "this is what I'm meant to do".

  • What makes your program special?

    Along with choosing pairings to create the best dog, I pride myself on giving the personal touch to my adopters. I answer questions during the adoptive process, afterwards and beyond. I stay in contact with my adopters as long as they are comfortable. I love lifelong pupdates!

  • What are the different breed sizes in your program?

    Our puppies are miniature size. Sizes will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat types in your program?

    Our puppies include smooth and longhaired coat varieties. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include piebald, cream, red, black, chocolate, fawn (isabella), fawn (isabella) and tan, chocolate and tan, chocolate and cream, black and tan, black and cream, and dapple. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Lisa

Lisa has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Lisa partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $300 non-refundable deposit and between $2,200 - $4,700 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The fee depends upon color, coat type, pattern, and registration. I require a $300 non-refundable deposit to reserve a puppy. The deposit is transferable to an available puppy in current litter or another future litter.”

    Lisa and her husband were incredible.... So caring and helpful you can tell they're not just breeders... this is a labor of love for Lisa... what more can you ask of a breeder, and don't get me started on the swag bag that came with for adorable Dachshund puppy, some food, water, plenty of toys for the long trip home, portable water bowl for travel, chew toys for teething, leash and collar to get started, and my wife's favorite a Snarky Doxy Miniature Dachshund tshirt for our puppy..     Our experience with Lisa at Snarky Doxy Miniature Dachshunds was truly wonderful from beginning to end. ❤️ From our very first conversation, it was obvious how much love, care, and thought Lisa puts into raising her puppies. She anticipated every need we could possibly have, answered every question, and made the entire experience feel incredibly special and completely seamless. One of my favorite parts of the entire process was looking forward to our puppy updates! Lisa took the most fabulous weekly photos of our sweet girl and was always so quick to send them our way. She kept us updated as her little personality started to emerge, sharing new behaviors, milestones, and things she was beginning to do. It made us feel like we were getting to know her and watching her grow even before we were able to bring her home. Those photos and updates became something we genuinely looked forward to every week. 🥹🐾 And now that Heidi is home with us, we are completely smitten! She seemed to warm up to us almost immediately. She has spent her first day playing, galloping around on those tiny little legs, snuggling, exploring, and happily napping throughout the day. She already seems so comfortable, confident, and loved, which I think speaks volumes about the care and socialization she received before coming home to us. You can tell Heidi wasn’t simply “raised” until she was ready for her new home, she was genuinely loved. That made such a difference in how naturally she transitioned into our family.     Working with Lisa to get our puppy was great! She answered all my questions on the same day. She sent weekly videos and pictures, not just any pictures. The pictures were very professional portraying our puppy in cute poses with fun backgrounds. I loved seeing the changes in him each week. Also saw pictures of the Dam and Sire. Lisa is very kind and thoughtful. Snarky Doxy Miniatures are well cared for and it shows in their breeding, temperament, beautiful coats and more than well socialized.

    I truly cannot recommend Lisa enough! Before finding her, I had been working with another breeder, but due to an unexpected tragedy, things didn’t work out and I was heartbroken. When I found Lisa and shared a little of what I had been through, she was immediately so warm and kind. I truly couldn’t imagine having gone through this process with anyone else. Lisa has been exceptional from start to finish. She is incredibly responsive and accommodating, and it’s so clear how much love and care she pours into her puppies. Her weekly puppy photo shoots were such a joy to receive and something I looked forward to every week.     We are so glad we chose to work with Lisa! From the very beginning, the entire process was smooth, organized, and stress-free.
