I'm Mina L., the breeder behind Snowhisper Shih Tzu located in Fountian, CO. My pups are home raised and my pride and joy. They have to be at least 8 wks to be placed, are vet checked, wormed, and given 2 to 3 shots before they leave. They are sent with a goodie bag containing food, toys, clothing, harnesses, and many other pup necessities. Pet furnished with pedigree.

  • Why did you start breeding?

    I owned a pet CKC black and white Shih Tzu for 14 years. When she passed it took me two years to get over her and when I decided to get a new pup decided anything but a black-and-white so went for gold & white CKC dogs. I had a couple of litters while caring for my folks in Georgia until they passed and then moved here to be close to my daughter and got very interested in AKC puppies and acquired a breeding pair. I had raised Persian cats for 15 years so preferred the long hair and flat faces anyway and decided I love the Shih Tzu breed and have been and owner and lover of this breed for six years now. I love to see my puppies placed in good loving homes. Not being on the show circuit anymore like I was with my cats, prefer to place most of them as pets with a neuter or spay agreement.

  • What makes your program special?

    I give my pups a Loving inhome beginning and training. I also limit my litters so I have the time and pleasure of caring for and working with them. The real reason for raising them. My girls are limited to one litter a year ( if there are no accidents) 🧐.They are placed only after eight weeks of age and having two shots two worming‘s and a vet well check with a health guarantee. I send my pups home with what I call a goodie bag that is usually about the $50 value of your deposit. It has many things you will need to start the puppy off. I have found that even the people charging thousands of dollars for their dogs don’t seem to do this, or do this on a much smaller scale. I’m very proud of my pups confirmation and temperament. I have the adults checked with Embark testing For DNA results to help in my small breeding program.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our puppies include gold and white, red and white, and brindle and white. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Mina

Price

Puppy prices include a $50 non-refundable deposit and between $950 - $1,750 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“The price includes first two or three shots,vet check and worming, Health guarantee and a goodie bag with start up items for the puppy. A $50 nonrefundable deposit is required to hold a puppy and I encourage visits if you are serious. Most of my puppies are sold only as pets, no breeders unless I have thoroughly researched your purpose and background. I have both AKC pups and CKC pups. My CKC pups are verified three generations back as well as my AKC. All come with a copy of the parents registration but none with breeding rights unless qualifying for that privilege. Non of the pups can leave until over 8 wks eating well and fully paid for. I do not take checks and do not ship. 50$ to hold a puppy is non refundable.”

    I had a great experience with getting my pup through Snowhisper. Mina did a great job preparing our little Buddy to come home to us. She sent him home with a big bag of supplies which included a blanket that had the scent of his mother, brother and sister. He sleeps through the night with his blanket. He is also doing well with his potty training. He has a wonderful personality and is loved by everyone!
