I'm Barbara F., the breeder behind Solaras Border Collies located in Watkinsville, GA. As AKC Breeders of Merit, we breed our Border Collies with care and a focus on health and temperament.
Q. & A. with Barbara
Why did you start breeding?
Solaras started in 2004 with our first Border Collie, Smitty. Kiri soon joined the household, and our lives were then dedicated to making sure our dogs had all of the education and exercise a border collie deserves. Our dogs live indoors with us as house pets. We train in agility and herding for their recreation, but our competitive focus is on conformation.
What makes your program special?
Solaras Border Collies is a small kennel located in North Georgia, in the Greater Metropolitan Atlanta area. We breed just one to two litters a year, and are exclusively focused on all things Border Collie!
What are the different breed coat types in your program?
Our puppies have rough coats. Coat types may vary depending on the parent dogs.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and blue. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.
