I'm Marina A., the breeder behind Sonya & Olly Pugs located in Potomac, MD. We raise AKC Pugs in our home with a focus on health, temperament, and responsible breeding. Our dogs come from imported European champion bloodlines and are fed a carefully balanced raw diet. Puppies are well socialized, loved, and raised as part of our family before joining yours.

Why did you start breeding?
I fell in love with Pugs after bringing home Sonya. Learning about the breed inspired me to study responsible breeding, health testing, pedigrees, and nutrition. After carefully planning and selecting health-tested, imported European bloodlines, I welcomed my first litter in 2026.What makes your program special?
Our Pugs are raised in our home as part of our family, never in kennels. We carefully select imported European champion bloodlines with an emphasis on health and temperament. Health testing, a balanced raw diet, and early socialization are priorities from day one. We stay connected with our puppy families and are always here to offer lifelong support.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and fawn. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Getting a puppy from Marina
Marina has been certified by Good Dog’s screening team for responsible and trusted breeding practices. When you’re ready, reach out to ask about the puppies or anything else on your mind. You’ll get to know each other through messaging, phone, or video and pay securely, all on Good Dog.
After buyers complete the application and screening process, Marina partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Sonya is our beautiful fawn Pug, imported from Serbia from European champion bloodlines. She has excellent structure, a petite build, an incredibly loving temperament, and is exceptionally intelligent.

About Olly
Olly (Olympus) is our black Pug, imported from Russia from European champion bloodlines. He is in excellent health, has a sweet, outgoing personality, is very social with people, children, and other dogs, and is always making us laugh with his funny, playful nature.
Parent health testing
Good level
Sonya & Olly Pugs reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Pugs.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.
Vet Wellness Exam
A breeder may perform additional tests on their dogs that do not fall into these general categories. These tests may be more uncommon or very specific to a particular breed.
Pyruvate Kinase Deficiency (PKD), Pug Type, DNA Profile, Pug Dog Encephalitis (PDE)
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
