I'm Brendon D., the breeder behind Southern Elite Retrievers located in Louisiana. Southern Elite Retrievers takes pride in bettering the Labrador Retriever breed. We only breed health tested males and females, and like them to be field trial or hunt tested dogs. Our goal is to make both a working dog and a new family member.

Why did you start breeding?
Breeding is not my full time job. However, I do enjoy raising puppies with a solid pedigree.
What makes your program special?
I like what makes our breedings special all our puppies are whelped and raised in our house . We don’t do litter after litter. Each pup gets special attention and socialization while inside the house .
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

Puppy prices include a $250 non-refundable deposit and between $550 - $1,250 final payment, before taxes & fees.
“Do to limited puppies , deposits are non refundable. Once you put a deposit on a puppy , we tell other buyers that puppy is no longer available. Balance determination by cost of puppy.”

Brendon may provide a written contract or
health guarantee when you purchase a puppy. This helps
protect both you and your breeder, ensuring that you
both have a clear understanding of the terms of your
puppy purchase. If Brendon offers a contract
or guarantee, the details will be personalized by them.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.
Elbow Dysplasia Finals (OFA, BVA, SV, FCI)
Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
