I'm Gena A., the breeder behind Southern Pugs located in Black Mtn, NC. Our puppies receive the best care in our home. They are socialized with other female and male pugs in our home. Pixie is the mom and Hank Sweetie Pie is the male dad. Both Pixie and Hank are Apricot colored pugs with beautiful coloring and faces. Both the parent pugs have a sweet disposition and AKC.

Getting a puppy from Gena

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,800 - $2,200 final payment, before taxes & fees.

“Our pugs come from a line of pure bred AKC registered healthy pugs. They are loved and cared for by both our family and our local vet. The Apricot colored pugs are more rare but are registered as fawn with AKC.”

Program update on 05 Oct. •…Look at this sweet boy! Oakley (aka Batman) is ready for his forever home. He’s so cute and loves to play and explore. He’s got a cute face and loves to run. His features are more similar to the traditional pugs when they first were being bred. He’s a full bred pug with high pedigree in his bloodline. He’s AKC registered, healthy, up to date on vaccines, deworming and flea and tick treatments. He is doing great with potty training and sleeps through the night.

About Pixie
Pixie is a female Pug over 3 years old. Carefully selected as a great representative of her breed, Gena decided to make her part of their program. Gena has passed Good Dog’s screening process, which involved a review of their breeding practices, environment, and the mental and physical health of their dogs.

Patellar Luxation
Knee testing reduces the chance of passing down Patellar Luxation, which results in the kneecap becoming displaced or dislocated and can cause mild to severe joint pain.

Gena was wonderful to work with! She responded to me right away when I first inquired, and was happy to answer any questions. Our puppy has adjusted very easily (she has always slept through the night, has been easy to house train and easy to crate train with no separation issues, etc etc) which obviously is a true testament to Gena and how she raises her pups to be independent and confident in their new environment after adoption. I would highly recommend Gena to anyone looking for a new puppy, and of course pugs are the best! Gena made it super easy for us, we feel so fortunate to have gotten our sweet puppy from her- a perfect addition to our family!
