I'm Susan C., the breeder behind Sparta Poms located in Spartanburg, SC. I offer beautiful Pomeranian puppies for families who share the same love and passion that I do for these lovely companions! My program is built upon a foundation of love, admiration, and respect for the breed. I love being a breeder. It's so fulfilling to see the positive effect that a beloved, furry companion can have on its family! I often receive messages and pictures back from my puppies*s new homes about how much they love their pup.

Why did you start breeding?
Growing up, my father used to breed Beagles. I have so many fond memories of that time and I enjoyed helping out with it so much that I decided to start my own breeding program later in life. I love the beauty and personality of Pomeranians, so I knew this was the breed for me!What makes your program special?
I do everything I can to ensure my puppies have what they need to develop into happy, well-rounded dogs. In my breeding program, good health and temperament are essential, cuteness is guaranteed, and lots of love is always included! I pride myself on helping all of my clients find the right fit for their needs and lifestyle.Where do your breeding dogs live?

Parent health testing

Sparta Poms reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Pomeranians.
Eye Certification (CAER, registered with OFA)
Eye testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide range of hereditary eye illnesses including retinal dysplasia, lens luxation, and glaucoma, which can cause impared vision or blindness.
Cardiac Evaluation (registered with OFA)
Heart testing reduces the chance of passing down congenital heart disease, which can cause a range of symptoms ranging from trouble exercising to heart failure.
2,8-Dihydroxyadenine (2,8-DHA) Urolithiasis
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
