I'm Karen M., the breeder behind Spectacular Aussies and Cavaliers located in Howardsville, VA. Our pups are hand raised in our home in Virginia.   • Why did you start breeding?

    My passion for animals led me to my first Australian Shepherd over 20 years ago. Stamper was the smartest, most loyal dog I had ever had the privilege of owning. He stole my heart ❤️. I wanted to share the Aussie experience with as many people as I could and that’s how my journey into breeding began. As the years went on I also had a desire to own a lap dog that was also smart, loving , and affectionate. Which led me to Lilly my first Cavalier King Charles in 2014.

  • What makes your program special?

    We believe in breeding not just for looks but also for a healthy dog with a great personality and temperament. We ensure each puppy has the best possible start in life. Each litter is hand raised from the day they are born in a nurturing environment with early socialization.

  • What are the different breed coat colors in your program?

    Our Australian Shepherd puppies include black, blue merle, and red. Cavalier King Charles Spaniel puppies include blenheim and tri-color. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.

  • Where do your breeding dogs live?

    They live in my home.

Getting a puppy from Karen

After buyers complete the application and screening process, Karen partners with them to find the best puppy match.

Puppy prices include a $500 non-refundable deposit and between $1,100 - $3,500 final payment, before taxes & fees.

    Bringing home our first Aussie puppy has been a fun and rewarding experience for our whole family. Karen was extremely responsive and informative throughout the process. She always replied promptly and even provided updates while we waited for the puppy to be old enough to come home. Remy is such a sweet puppy. He has a great temperament that makes him a perfect fit for our young family. He is very playful and loving. It is clear that Karen raises her puppies with care and attention. Remy is very tollerant to being handled (putting on harness/leash, touching his feet) and was already used to sleeping in his crate over night. This has greatly helped Remy to adapt to our home quickly. Karen met us at an agreeable date/time and provided all the information we needed when taking Remy home (recommendations for care, vaccination report, AKC paperwork, etc). We would gladly work with Karen again in the future!
