I'm Rene W., the breeder behind Spellbound Doberman Pinschers located in Portland, OR. I have loved Dobermans since I was a child but did not get my first one until I was 19. I've had some experiences a long the way that have shaped how I feed, vaccinate and raise my dogs. I will be looking for homes that have similar values as mine. Please expect to have a life long relationship w/me.
Q. & A. with Rene
Why did you start breeding?
I raise Dobermans that will be great family companions and protectors. I strive to keep learning about the newest information regarding health & test my dogs often. I take breeding seriously and I am a preservation breeder, I do it for the love of Dobermans. At this time I am breeding less than 1 litter per year.
What makes your program special?
The Doberman standard is important to me and I lean on other breeders long time experiences to help guide me. More importantly, my hope is to combine genetics, food & a modified vaccination protocol to increase our dogs longevity. I use Puppy Culture as the corner stone, so puppies may have the best start in life.
What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black and rust and red and rust. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.
Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home.

About Voodoo
Beautiful and sweet. Smart and goofy. High prey drive. I have intentionally raised her with a cat so she is good with her. She does capture and will kill small critters like rats, etc. She loves other dogs and is good and mostly submissive with dogs who are above her. Her nose is incredible and we play hide n seek with different toys all of the time. She can even locate them on top of a door or under a blanket. :) She knows many many tricks and loves to work. She has funny quirks like nibbling ears which is pretty funny. She comes from a pedigree with long-lived dogs, which is one of my main focuses for breeding. She has been shown in Conformation and taken a Barn Hunt class, which she enjoys very much. She definitely is a dog that wants to please me. She has an on and off switch which is very nice. She's ready to go when I am, but can chill on my couch as well. She is not destructive and not a blankie sucker.
