I'm Sarah M., the breeder behind Squirrelytail Farms located in Gastonia, NC. My intention is to preserve the old working lines and raise health, well rounded puppies. We raise AKC/ASCA working pups as well as some ASDR, lower energy family pets.

Australian Shepherd
About Rafiki
Rafiki is the absolute sweet boy you will ever meet. And to top it off he's got the brains, he is very bidable. He was raised in a cattle farm in AZ. However do to my focus in obedience and confirmation training, he isn't super confident around large herds of sheep/goats, but he is willing to work a small group.
Good health testing
Good level
Squirrelytail Farms reports to performing the health tests below on their breeding dogs. Ask your breeder about the tests performed on the parents of your litter. Learn more about health testing for Australian Shepherds.
DNA Disease Panel
Genetic testing reduces the chance of passing down a wide variety of hereditary diseases of differing prevalence and severity such as Progressive Retinal Atrophy (an eye disease) and Von Willebrand's Disease (a blood disease).
Health testing is one key piece of responsible breeding and is performed on breeding dogs to prevent the presence of heritable conditions in their puppies.
