I'm Brian C., the breeder behind Standing Water Kennels located in Commerce, OK. Our dogs are bred for a purpose. We run health panels, complete OFA scans, and only breed sound well proven lines. Our breeding dogs are both hunt tested in AKC and UKC and proven in the hunt field. Dogs are raised around our family & are well socialized in many different scenarios from shopping field trips, visits to the local library to Retriever Club training days.

Why did you start breeding?
Breeding was not a decision we took lightly. We wanted to breed for a purpose and want the results of our breedings to provide dogs that make wonderful companions in the home, but can also work the hunting field. We wanted to make sure that our dogs are healthy and genetically sound both physically and mentally.What makes your program special?
We board and train dogs for basic obedience , waterfowl, and Upland hunting. We have knowledge and training in dog nutrition and all around pet care. We go to trainings all over the country and take local courses when able to learn even more about dog training and care.What are the different breed coat colors in your program?
Our puppies include black, chocolate, and yellow. Colors will vary depending on the parent dogs.Where do your breeding dogs live?
They live in my home and a kennel on my property.

"This price includes a 26 month health guarantee for OFA and genetic testing. Also birthing & whelping expense as well as any vaccinations, worming, & vet visits until they go to their forever homes. All our puppies are the same price regardless of color. This deposit is put toward the overall price of the puppy. The deposit will hold your choice of puppy until it is time for them to come home."

Litter update on 11 May 2025 •…Today, we did another round of nail trims. Weekly nail trims (even small snips if they don't really need it) from an early age will help you and your pup have better experiences with grooming in the future. We handle all our pups daily. We do different types of touch from ears, feet, tails, & teeth to laying them on their back and examining their belly, joints, and neck. We want them to be comfortable with being handled. They also got introduced to smaller food and water bowls. Next week they will learn to eat separately. The pups are also doing great at potty pad training. Today, we moved the pad to the door when they are out eating and playing. This will help them to transition to going outside. We have stairs, so the pups will be carried down to the grass once they are allowed to go outside. We recommend waiting until they are at least 12 weeks old before using stairs, and they need to be introduced safely. We are happy to help with some tips if you need it. This week, we will continue potty pad training and also introduce sitting on different surfaces starting with a scale and tile floor.

Hip Dysplasia
Hip testing reduces the chance of passing down hip dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause hip pain and the eventual loss of the function of the hip joint.

Elbow testing reduces the chance of passing down elbow dysplasia, which is primarily found in large breed dogs and can cause arthritis in the elbow joint and front leg lameness.
